The standard barometric pressure of 29.92 inHg or 101.3 Kpa is used on all aircraft above 18000' (normally) to ensure everyone's altimeter displays the same altitude. So when you are landing, the baro pressure at the airport is not usually ever 29.92 inHg. When you set the DH it is usually based on the radar alitmeter which does not use the baro pressure, in order to see changes in terrain more precisely. I hope this helps?  Wink

Now I'm having naother issue, My barometer shows 200' above the call: It call 200' whne the needle is ahowing 400' and so on...? Deespite me pressing the "B" key to set the pressure that is given by ATC, normally std. 29.92...? Not only with the 727 with other planes...Stock as well?
Any advice???

Hi Bernardo,

The image below is of an approach to KDEN RW07 (5430FT field elevation).
The aircraft is currently 400FT (#2) above the ground at an altitude of approximately 5,750FT (#4) with barometric pressure setting of 29.92 (#3) in of mercury.

Altimeter: Items 3 & 4
#3 is automatically adjusted by pressing 'B' and will only effect #4.
This will not have any impact on your 200FT callout.

Note: FSX defaults to 200FT Decision Height (DH)
Radio Altimeter: Items 1, 2 and 5
Turning knob (#5) will change the DH bug (#1) which is currently set to 200FT.

The bad news is that the knob (#5) doesn't work on the CS727.
So if you adjust the knob (#5) so the DH bug (#1) reads 400FT, your 'Minimums' callout will still be at 200FT.

You must have a problem with your 727 Paul. The DH adjustment knob works fine on mine (for both the Pilot and Co-Pilot sides).

The only problem I have is that if you adjust one, it changes both, and there is a difference in their settings. If I set the Pilot's radar altimeter to 200 feet, the Co-Pilot's radar altimeter shows 300 feet (see next pic). If I change the Pilot's to 400 feet, then the Co-Pilot's reads about 900 feet!

Weird! Undecided

Sorry, it's apparent I wasn't clear enough. My knob spins just fine  Wink

Bernardo (Berlopez) is using a callout sound gauge that is tied to the DH. My point was...no matter how much you turn the knob, it will not pass the value you set on the DH bug to FSX, thus it's stuck at 200FT.

In the case of your image, you've set it to 400FT but the 'Minimums' callout will still occur at 200FT because the knob is broken.

I'm currently updating the 727 V-One gauge that will allow proper DH adjustment.
And also I will be uploading an altitude callout gauge that will work on any aircraft.

Just ignore my previous reply then. Wink

HI All Thank you for replying to this thread. If I recall correctly Matt writes on his read-me about his gauge:
3) IMPORTANT: The decision height on the revised Radioaltimeter gauge CANNOT be set using the knob (this is out of my control). Simply assign a couple of keys (I chose num7 and num1) to increase and decrease Decision Height and you will see the yellow bug move.

My Alt Alert isn't sounding when I approach the set altitude, 1000' before? I have FSX Paul V-1 and Matts' Alt callout installed and they all sound,IT DOES SOUND WHEN I SET THE ALTITUDE WHEN i START A FLIGHT, bUT NOT ONCE i AM IN THE AIR? The only one I am missing is the Dooing when approaching the set altitude? The sound.wav is present in the sound folder in the Captainsim folder in the main FSX tree.ONCE IN THE AIR THE SOUNDS STOP SOUNDING? Before I start a flight in Free Flight I test the sounds they sound alt.Alert and seat belt. Then Once in the air they go quite? Shocked

FIXED! I had forgotten to change the line in the .ini file:SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=0

I have a problem in that if my weather is set to anything other than clear skies, the sounds will never work, no matter how much you reset the aircraft.  If the weather is clear skies, it will work, and then if I switch it to any other weather besides clear, then the sounds go away.  Captain Sim tech support has been less than helpful with this.  At first I thought it was only when I selected REX weather, however I discovered it is any weather.  So what fun is flying this bird if I can only do it in the clear sunny skies, or a clear night?? Angry

You are right! I never noticed that before. Or maybe I had previously put it down to forgetting to reload the aircraft to fix the sound problem!

Currently I am having problems, with some of my Captain Sim products, that I have not had before. Maybe it's time for me to uninstall, then reinstall FSX and Acceleration. It would be a lot of work, but it just might fix the issues I'm having now.

Hi Lou.

When I first load the CS 727 into FSX, the sounds don't work (mainly the altitude alert and the cabin announcements), so I have to reload the aircraft to get them working. <- This is NOT new!
If I change the weather from Fair Weather or Clear skies (clears all weather) to anything else, the sound disappears again. The same applies if I use AS2012 (which I use for real world weather generation). <- This is new to me. I never noticed this until I checked with the problems that CSdoesnotwork mentioned in their post. That means it either didn't used to happen to me. OR. I had attributed it to my "forgetting" to reload the 727 into FSX, when in actual fact I had reloaded it into FSX.

I always try to keep calm and carry on. Wink However. I think I'm overdue for a complete uninstall and reinstall of FSX and all my addons! Because it's such a big task, I keep putting it off. Cheesy

My experience with the cockpit sounds was that they were broken with the the 2.4 update.  The only way I could get them back was to get the sound gauge from the 2.3 version and use it with the 2.4 install.  Now I can get sound by using the cfg edit and reloading the aircraft as described elsewhere in the forums.  Using the 707 gauge wasn't workable for me.  All those error messages and the sound played at the wrong volume.
