Oke Bob thanks a lot for your information!
My problem is a lot better after I changed the registry!
I alsow noticed that if the torque goes over the limit the engines shut down.
After your friend gets back I hope to hear from you more?
Again thanks.  Wink

Interesting.  I'll have to try that also, because I have an issue in my yoke where even if it's at center, it will show just to the right of center in the control panel, and there's no calibration mode for mine.  Maybe your registry stuff will fix it for me as well. Smiley

Indeed it is.  I'll take a look.  Thanks for the tip.

Sorry to resurrect this from the dead, but I figured I'd share another data point.

I'm using a CH yoke, and just recently bought the C-130s for FSX.

I also suffered from excessive idle power on the ground...to the point where the parking brakes wouldn't hold the aircraft in place. It seemed to be killing my landings as well - even when I came in at an appropriate approach speed, when I leveled off in the flare and cut power I would usually climb...it was horrible.

Based on what I read in this thread I recalibrated my yoke using the Windows Control Panel "calibrate game controller" routine, and it "seems" to have solved my problem.  The parking brake is holding and I just made a very sweet touchdown from a test flight.

So, step one to solving this should be recalibration of your controller and go from there...

Does this still happen if you have the 4 green Low Speed Ground Idle buttons depressed on the LOW SPEED GROUND IDLE CONTROL PANEL (Panel 'S' in manual Part II - Systems and Equipment pages 23 & 24)? Because I thought that they are supposed to prevent that from happening.

Markoz -

I'll have to check that out.

Turns out my post was a bit premature.  Calibrating my yoke did help, but now it just creeps incredibly slowly with the parking brakes on!  Better than before at least...

Also check what reading you get on the Engine Panel the Top Row of 4 gauges should read around 1.6 or so. If they are higher than that try hitting Ctrl+E. Then see what happens.

Update: The 4 green buttons did NOT stop the forward creep, unfortunately.  With the parking brakes on, it moved forward almost imperceptibly, but over time it was obvious.  At the time, my torque was 4.6 (way higher than 1.6, eh).

I then did what Hawk said (Ctrl+E); torque went down to 2.4 and the aircraft stayed put.  I guess that is my new solution!

Hi Matt,

I had the same issue with using Multi Crew Experience, getting the co-pilot to start each engine. Also, it depends on how you start the engines. If you do something out of sequence then you tend to get high readings. Hitting Ctrl+E brings them back down to around 1.6 1.7.

Don't know if it's just us or it's a bug but, I can live with it.

James.

I did some circuits with the C-130, and noticed on 1 occasion that while I had the plane sitting there, with the engines running AND having the green buttons depressed, the engine torque was 2.4. The plane did sneak forward with the parking brakes on. The other 3 or 4 times the torque was 1.4 and the plane just sat still. Pressing CTRL+E after the engines were already started didn't fix it either.

It doesn't happen very often for me and I had never noticed this problem until I read about it here.

Hi Mark,

As I said, it's just one of those things, but, at the end of the day is it a bug or do we live with it??

Weather it's a bug or not, I don't know. Either way I can still live with it.  Wink
