Sorry, but I do not understand! What this has to do with this problem?
What hinders this protection into my program?

Sometimes the Online Activation fails. It seems to have worked, but it hasn't. So an Offline Activation can often fix it, so it's worth trying.

Hi Martini

I do not understand what you mean by "disable the system". What system do you want to disable?

I will explain better. You talked about that "sometimes the Online Activation fails. It Seems to have worked, but it has not. So Often an Offline Activation can fix it, so it's worth trying."
Well, how do I resolve this? During installation if I do not authenticate it installs the program!
Give me step by step to try again! If it does not work I release a remote access so you try to solve it for me!

KB #685:

Q: How to reinstall a product?

A:
Quite a number of "issues" are caused by using of outdated version of a product. Prior to submitting a support request please make sure you have current version of a product.

To reinstall a product please perform the following steps in exact order:
Uninstall the product:
1. Go to Start> Programs> Captain Sim.
2. Select the product you wish to uninstall.
3. Click uninstall icon.

Install the product:
4. Make sure you have the latest version of the product
5. Run the product installer (the .exe file) and follow the prompts.
Please note: valid Order Number and Internet connection are required for installation/activation.

Please make sure you run the installation file as Administrator and that "User Account Control" is disabled (for Vista and Windows7), it limits admins ability to install programs.

If regular reinstall did not fix your problem you can try to clean registry.
Please be careful and do it on your own risk!

How to clean Registry:
1. Uninstall the product
2. Go to Start> Run. Type: regedit, click OK.
3. Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\)
For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\C130XPRO
Make sure you are going to delete correct folder!
4. Delete the product entry folder.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Install the product.

If you stil have issues and the above does not help we must admit your system configuration is a rare exception. You can try to install the product on another system or request a refund.

Deaar Markoz and Lou,

I followed all the steps you described above. Unfortunately it did not work!
I checked all the settings on my system, including administrator privileges and found nothing wrong.

Hi Martini.

You deleted the correct entry from the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\721PRO_FSX)? See attached image.

@ Lou. You're welcome  Wink

I hope you only had one Captain Sim product installed. Your whole Captain Sim folder is deleted. Anyway....

Did you try an offline activation?

Try doing these to if that gets it working properly:
1) Turn your Antivirus software off while you install it. They can sometimes interfere because the activation needs to add the entry into the registry. I use Avast, and it sometimes blocks the installation, so I deactivate the "shields" for 10 minutes when installing FSX addons.

2) Turn off the UAC (User Account Control) because it is quite restrictive especially C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86). It is highly recommended that you DO NOT install FSX in the default location if you are using Vista or Windows 7. You should install it in the root C: drive (C:\FSX) or on a separate drive or partition.

3) Run FSX using the "Run as administrator" option.

Dear Markoz

The answers to your questions are in bold and red.

I hope you only had one Captain Sim product installed. Your whole Captain Sim folder is deleted. Anyway ....

Yes, I just had a Captain Sim.

Did you try an offline activation?

Yes I tried this option three times.

Try doing these to if enquiry.c That gets it working:
1) Turn off your Antivirus software while you install it. They can sometimes interfere because the activation needs to add the entry into the registry. I use Avast, and sometimes it blocks the installation, so I deactivate the "shields" for 10 minutes When Installing FSX addons.

I had not disabled my AVG. I'll turn it off like you said.

2) Turn off the UAC (User Account Control) because it is quite Restrictive Especially C: \ Program Files or C: \ Program Files (x86). It is highly recommended That You DO NOT install FSX in the default location if you are using Vista or Windows 7. Should you install it in the root C: drive (C: \ FSX) or on a separate drive or partition.

I had done this earlier.

3) Run FSX using the "Run as administrator" option.

All my attempts were as Administrator.
I'll test option 1 from his questioning and let's see if it works!

Regards

Artur Martini

Unfortunately it did not work!!!!!

I believe there is no other alternative for me, even though you speak the program runs on my OS.
I see only a last alternative for my case (if possible) before I cancel my Captain Sim. I release the remote access to the support team! If you can not, I get very frustrated, but I have to conform!

Best regards
