Vietnam Era Military flying in FSX with CS Weapon, can be a rewarding
experience, since the Vietnam War scenery already exists !... (http://vietnamwar.project.free.fr/index.html)

Many and of different type & task Military planes & helicopters can be flown
over there "CS Weaponed" in a highly immersive virtual environment !
Since scenery is already there, only the targets have to be added !... Some examples :

Striking targets at Than Hoa bridge :

Above Mission, starts on Carrier :

Da Nang AirBase :

I think I've "discovered" my "Sim in sim" Military flying simming...

Presenting the "concept" of FSX as "Strategy Combat Simulator". A similar concept withBoard Strategy Games :
In this Mission, the 2 Flaks are just the 2 "pieces on the board map",
while the chance of hitting the player is defined by "dices" (RandomAction) with 25%
chance of downing player, each time he enters the attached to each Flak area (here defined
to a 900m radius). By defining these parameters (size of areas, chance of incidence, player's
hight, speed, Gs, etc) you create the FSX "Simulated Military Combat Events" as I mean it.

The right "tool" for this case, would be the A-7 with laser guided bombs to take out the
flaks from distance and then "papahoomamaoo". The successful attempt in video, was
a 50% total chance of player being hit, since I entered AA flak controled areas twice...
I was with the "lucky" 50% here...

All the necessary elements for this project to start, I think has been gathered - accomplished, ie :

Functional Flak with proper effects

- AI intercepting & damaging player
- SimObject Targets as also scenery targets (destroyed with free weapon pack4)
as also :
Functional SAMs directed with low accuracy towards player, triggering their explosion by approximation to him :

Now the main Missions using above elements have to be made...
As for the Missions logic-mechanism, many ideas come from here : http://www.airbattle.co.uk/d_summary.html

Since FSX focuses in "just flying the plane" and is not a combat sim, the Strategy concept of board games, I think suits this sim best...

I wonder if some of you guys would like to participate - help with this, with things like :

- Fitting CS Weapons in default croshair aims of Vietnam Era planes like the freeware OV-10 or T-28A "Trojan" etc
- Convertion of military vehicles to "aircraft" type simobjects destroyable by CS Weapons
- making of AI Playbacks tracks (native FSX Video Recording function)
- Making of .wav Sound files (of any type) to be used in Missions
- Ideas, any kind of period info, etc...
- Any other way
