some one in the Netherlands is working on a superb soundpack for the 130Adrian wrote on Apr 25th, 2024 at 10:21am:
what would be ideal in the mean time would be for Captainsim ..or third party to alter the sound.xml file to make the soundpack into a 4 engine config,..at present it is unchanged kingair 2 eng hence why engines 3 & 4 sound weak. Having grown up on RNZAF Whenuapai Airbase and my Father flew C-130's I was around them all the time ,..no the kingair sound isnt close to the T54 Allison but would go a loooong way to making it sound full,..start ups are disappointing with very little in the way of start up sounds on #3 and #4. Surely it wouldnt take much to reconfig the xml ?

Indeed. It's quite easy to alter the xml yourself.

Duplicate the code in the  <EngineSoundPresets> section and change the EngineIndex = "1"  and Index = "1"  of the duplicates, to EngineIndex = "3"  and Index = "3", then likewise for the Index = "2" etc change to "4".

Then do the same within the <EngineSoundStates> section.

My sound.xml already had engines 3 & 4 information, so I'm not sure what to change.

Just brought  the C130 and all livery packs on xbox real big fan of the aircraft for many years now.  Can someone please please please smdo a custom soundpack with some volume too as I was  just on the ramp starting up when a  small light aircraft with one engine drowned out the sound of the c130 start up.  It definitely needs a soundpack update if it's not in the works already although some comments above seem to point towards one soon.  Please let that be the case.  Two other small niggles, can yiu make it so the rear ramp opens when in flight and also sounds of the ramp opening would be good too.  And lastly will there be an opening in the floor to allow access to the flight deck from the side entrance door as it seems to be blocked from the entrance and the rear cargo bay.  Also the APU sounds on start up seem to be missing ??

As of version 1.1 user "mnpostema"'s sounds are still not included. Did CS choose not to use them?

VERSION 1.1 (04JUN’24)
-Fuel system modeling improved
-Paratroop doors inflight operations added
-Ramp adjustment of 0 degree (level) ramp for inflight operations added
-Left aileron texture mapping fixed
-Third party free liveries support added
-Quick toggle to flight engineer view of center console added
-Pitot plugs ribbons improved
-The number 3 engine bleed air labeling fixed
-GPS navigation support added (A/P panel NAV toggle switch)

So.....nothing on sound!  Despite someone generously offering to provide for free!  Sad

Why don't you use the C160 Transall sound set and double it as their latest update sounds phenomenal on the sound pack side for start up and running. I cannot get fully immersed with the sound set as it is. It's just way to quiet. And the apu can hardly be heard either.  Please can you fix the soundset.

Hi
I'm a big fan of Mil Airlifters, and have been since FS9, in FSX I had both the Just Flight and CS C-130 plus all the add on liveries, had close to 1000 hours on the sim on that aircraft.

I was excited to see the C-130E released for MSFS by CS, but was underwhelmed after a few flights was parked in the hanger and I would have uninstalled it if i could have worked out how too.
When the H was released I wasn't so enthusiastic, but like a moth to the flame I was drawn in...I don't regret the purchase, there are a few annoyances, sound being one them but would like access to more liveries or the ability to export between the E and H models.
If a cockpit could be added to the E that would certainly make this old Herc Driver happy.

If you are on PC, the TSS Allison T-56 sound pack (payware) for FSX/P3D seems to work well on this model. Additionally, liveries are available online.

Hi Sean

Thanks for the heads up - I did get that add on for FSX as well but that was years ago so repurchased it. Now this proves what a Nube I am to MSFS - I've put it in the ...\\Community\captainsim-aircraft-m133\SimObjects\Airplanes\CSC130H\sound folder and it doesn't work.

Is there a user guide or similar to install the sound?

Also for some reason I can't port the E textures to the H is there an idiots  guide on how to do this?

Cheers Paul

TSS Allison T-56 sound pack

Hi just bumping this. I've purchased the sound pack.

Is there a user guide or similar to install the sound in MSFS?

I've put it in the ...\\Community\captainsim-aircraft-m133\SimObjects\Airplanes\CSC130H\sound folder and it doesn't work.

I also tried editing the sound.cfg to sound.xml which it looks like that is the native MSFS sound file type.

Any help appreciated noting that this port isn't supported by either CS or TSS.

Thanks

It's been a while since I installed them, but did you recompile the layout.json file using MSFS Layout Generator (recommend googling that program)?
