737 in P3D v2

Prepar3D v2 look fantastic! The shadows moving through the cockpit is a fantastic effect, and in Captain Sim aircraft, make the realistic look that they already have, even better still.

This is a flight from the default starting airport to KJFK

I gotta say that I love how it looks in P3D v2.

No. I changed the engine thrust, in the aircraft.cfg, but nothing else.

Don't get me wrong. Paul has done a wonderful job with it, and it's very good! I just don't use it myself. Undecided

I installed it in FSX, then copied everything over to P3Dv2. But if you would rather install it directly into P3Dv2, then I recommend that you buy the FlightSim Estonia FSX to Prepar3D Migration Tool. It only costs €11.95 (incl. VAT).

Note: I installed the CS Weather Radar into P3D as a test for the Migration Tool and it worked fine. If you use both FSX and P3D, you might want to install it in P3D, then in FSX, that way, all the links in the Start Menu are for FSX rather than P3D.

If you don't want to use the Migration tool and just copy it from FSX, copy the following folders or files

From FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder, copy the CS_B737-100, CS_B737-200, CS_B737-200ADV, CS_B737-200C & CS_B737-200F into the P3Dv2\SimObjects\Airplanes folder

Copy the FSX\Captain_Sim folder and paste it in the root folder of P3Dv2 (so it will be P3Dv2\Captain_Sim).

Copy the following files from FSX\Effects and paste in the P3Dv2\Effects folder: cs737_ww.fx, cs737_vclightwhi.fx, cs737_smoke.fx, cs737_engstart.fx & cs737_edge.fx

And finally. Open the DLL.xml file for P3Dv2. By copying and pasting the following line in the Windows Run command box (Windows Key+R): %AppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\DLL.XML and the copy and paste this:

 <Launch.Addon>
   <Name>Captain Sim 737 Sound</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Captain_Sim\737\cs.sound.dll</Path>
 </Launch.Addon>

into the DLL.xml (BACKUP the DLL.xml file BEFORE you modify it!).

Thanks for the instructions Markoz. I copied all the CS 737 files over to P3D V2.

It seems to work even though I do not have the DLL.XML file. Could it be bcs I have the academic version? However I do have that file for FSX

Thanks again

I had the same problem when I first tried to copy them over, and I assumed I didn't need them! The DLL.xml file was created when I installed FSUIPC, so it will be for you if you install it (free version will do it). Then you can add the CS737 entry to it. Wink
