Too Slow Too High

These two images are from a KATL-KTPA flight using the FOXX3 STAR and ILS 19R  at KTPA. Both were taken during the descent phase of the flight.

This image shows the 752 approaching waypoint LEGGT which has an altitude restraint of FL270. The 752 crossed LEGGT at 27100 which I would say is right on the money.

This image is several miles past LEGGT. It indicates waypoint TABIR has a restraint of 250 kts and 13000 ft. Even though TABIR is still 52 nm away the 752 is slowing to 250 kts and the descent has stopped at FL270. Once the speed was 250 kts the 752 started to climb at 200 fpm to God knows where. When it became obvious that the plane was going climb rather descend I switched from VNAV to V/S and continued on in this fine aircraft.

It seems you have been unknowingly finding all sorts of problems with the FMS, eh?  Wink

Something similar has happened to me before. But it was a flight to La Guardia (KLGA) I think. I will try to fly it and post if I found the same problem later. (Where the aircraft starts on an un-commanded climb "at 200 fpm to God knows where".)

What ever caused it is rare and almost never happens, at least.

There are more screenshots that could be posted but I believe most simmers are aware of the "INSUFFICENT FUEL" message which can be disregarded, starting flights with 0 reserve and ending up with 10000 lbs of fuel at the end of the flight, the 10-12 minute difference between T/D ( if you can get a T/D) at FL360 to ETA at the airport, changing cost index during the flight doesn't change the ETA at destination and so on. Really a lot of issues but I believe most people know abut them. I try to post the unusual occurences which as far as I know have no solution except to be ready to go to heading select or V/S or hand fly the plane or brace for impact.
