Hi crado.

Have you added the Captain_Sim.b757.sound.gau to the "Trusted" list?

Try making the following changes to the sound.ini file found in [FSX root folder]\Captain_Sim\757 folder.

From this:

[Common]
Refresh.Time=10
Sound.Directory=Captain_Sim\757\sound
SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=1
SoundOffWhenSimIsPaused=1
SoundOffWhenSimDialogIsOpen=1
SoundOffWhenSimSoundIsOff=1

to this:

[Common]
Refresh.Time=10
Sound.Directory=Captain_Sim\757\sound
SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=0
SoundOffWhenSimIsPaused=0
SoundOffWhenSimDialogIsOpen=0
SoundOffWhenSimSoundIsOff=0

I do not need those changes in v4.6, but I did need them for versions 4.2 to 4.4.

Hope this helps.

So did you try the fix anyway? It might work.

I was just saying that I didn't need to do it in v4.6, but you might need to.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally deny the sound to work in FSX?

how can I deny the sound in FSX?

I still have the problem... Captain Sim support closed my ticket and said that I must install the CS 757 4.6, But I still installed this last version!

And I still have thise problem!
Alll other sounds works great in the cockpit, except the smoke and seat belts!

When you install the 757 v4.6, it installs the Captain_Sim.b757.sound.GAU into the gauges folder. When you first select the 757 in FSX, after installing it, FSX will ask you if you want to RUN/DON'T RUN the gauge. If you select DON'T RUN, you will deny it's being used in FSX.

The entry in the [Trusted] section of the FSX.cfg file will look something like this (with the =-2 at the end):
J:\Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\Captain_Sim.b757.sound.GAU.acalhkquwrezrtnkehrccaokarnnanbqrciakcck=-2
and the gauge won't be used in FSX for the 757.

If you select RUN, then YES, the entry in the [Trusted] section of the FSX.cfg file will look something like this (with the =2 at the end):
J:\Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\Captain_Sim.b757.sound.GAU.acalhkquwrezrtnkehrccaokarnnanbqrciakcck=2

and the gauge will be used in FSX for the 757.

I hope this helps explain it for you.

Edited:
To open the fsx.cfg, enter this line:

%AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.CFG

into the Windows Run command.

I don't know why they don't work for you, they work perfectly fine for me. Undecided

Try reinstalling the 757 Base Pack using the repair option. Make sure to use the Run as administrator option if you are using Vista/Win7/Win8.

Does it really show as D:\afsx\GAUGES\? Is afsx the correct installation location for FSX or did you just modify that to put into the post?

FInally I found a trick!!

I usually fly with 2D cockpit, sometimes in 3D, but never use the switch on the Overhead in 3D.

So, I tried to move the seat belt and smoke switch in 3D view, sounds works!!
And now the best: it works in 2D panel too!

I think I'v intialize something or so??

Glad you got it working.

But if that's the trick you need to do to make it work for you, then that's the way it is. Undecided

Mine works first time every time, and I no longer have to edit the sound.ini either. I've never needed to do the edit the sound.ini with v4.6.
