AP problem with HDG and LNAV
Jul 11th, 2009 at 9:02am
Print Post
Hi,
I purchased the 757 yesterday and tried a first flight EDDH to EDDM
(AMLUH UM852 POVEL UZ16 GALMA T703 LEKMI T105 VAMAS).
Everything loked fine, on the SID I activated VNAV, all ok... At 6000ft I activated LNAV, nothing happened, tried to follow the path via HDG Select, nothing happened! I can only turn manually, the AP does not respond on any lateral settings!! Why?
Hope for quick help

Detlev

I found it out myself, upon installation, the registration of FSUIPC was cancelled, maybe the installer uses another version...!? Cheesy

Hey, how do you guys even engage the AP?? When I click the AP engage buttons nothing happens. No lights light up and nothing happens. Do I have to switch something on?

Flight director switched on, and some mode for the AP to follow, like heading, or TO, or LNAV.  The manuals are pretty good on this stuff, actually, and probably every one of them (except the first) is worth printing out.  Of course having a huge double-sided, hole-punchin' printer at work helps Wink  But even if you're ink-jetting it, they're printer-friendly.

Hi Everyone,

I have a similar problem except everything is going on correctly except the L NAV/V NAV buttons refuse to light up. I can actually get the heading to work but I cannot fly my desired course. I am setting the IRS (first aligning it by switching the knobs to align...waiting for lights to go out...and turn to it to the NAV switches. If anyone knows anything I am doing wrong that is preventing the L NAV/ V NAV buttons to light up, please comment.

Thank you

Be sure the AP disconnect bar is UP to engage the AP, its hard to see.

If LNAV isnt working at all, there are numerous thread about this, most having to do with rolling FSUIPC back to V 4.3

captain sim have not got a great customer support, and refuse to admit that there is this problem

ARE YOU GUYS USING FLIGHT CONTROL HARDWARE

i was getting this same problem

after takeoff egange the autoflight, if nothing happens, disconnect your flight device and see if it does it, if not replug in your yoke/joystick, and it should work!

CAPTAIN SIM
Can you guys please fix your product????
I know this is an old aircraft, but you have to keep your planes able to fly. Flying without LNAV is a huge no no. VNAV doesn't control throttles or anything.

I think you got the numbers mixed up, and you will cause confusion because of that.

If you look at the Calendar of Updates, you will see that the latest version of the 757 Captain is 757 Captain SP 4.6, which was released in November 2011. Since then, there has not been an update for the 757 Captain.

Version 5.0 has not been released (we don't know if it even been started yet). See the 757 Captain 5.0 wish list forum. Wink

Ah your correct, sorry about that, however note that I bought it from a different source, and their download was 4.4 not 4.6!  Which solved my exact issues as described above!

As long as you bought the download version at a partner/affiliate store, you should be able to Check-in to Your Profile and get the latest versions through the Extended Download Service.
I originally bought my 757 Captain at The FlightSim Store, but every updated version since then, I have downloaded directly from the Captain Sim site. Wink Grin
