I don't know why they don't work for you, they work perfectly fine for me. :-/

Try reinstalling the 757 Base Pack using the repair option. Make sure to use the Run as administrator option if you are using Vista/Win7/Win8.

Does it really show as D:\afsx\GAUGES\? Is afsx the correct installation location for FSX or did you just modify that to put into the post?
