Having weird difficulties with 1.5:  Lost the click spots on the overhead panel in VC mode and can't shut the pilot or first officer windows?!  Would appreciate any advice.

This thing is working so flawlessly I have to  keep pinching myself. Good work Cap Sim!

A few months back when I purchased the product, I was very disappointed when I discovered that the autopilot and FD would not follow the fight plan no matter what I tried.

I started a thread that became long and and vitriolic at times, and vowed to never buy another CS product even as I hangered this bird.

When I received the email about the 1.5 update, I decided I woud give this one more shot before throwing in the towel for good. I would not be disappointed.

As soon as I had carefully followed the installation instructions, I rushed to test the AP/FD.....and they worked!

I was so pleased I immediately purchased the 757 4.7 as well...and that too worked without issue.

Thus, I'm pleased to say I'm on speaking terms with CS once again.

Some had suggested that my system was the issue, but this update suggests otherwise.

Thank you CS for transforming this airplane from a white elephant into a very enjoyable and useful airplane for me!

Looks like I'm the only who has problem with this update ?

Here lnav does not work. heading select does not work and when it comes to the lights I can only switch them  off or on using the  "flood" switch. All others do not work either Sad

Uninstall it, delete the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B767-300 folder. If you have any expansion pack(s), delete the CS_B767-300F, CS_B767-200, CS_E-767_AWACS and CS_KC-767A folders as well.
Also. Delete the FSX\Captain Sim\767 folder and the Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll file.
Now reinstall the 767 v1.5. Once you finish installing the base pack and expansion packs, restart your computer.
Make sure that you click on RUN and YES to all the gauges as FSX ask if you want trust them (which is a stupid idea of MS if you ask me Roll Eyes). Not doing that is almost guaranteed to ruin your 767 v1.5 experience.

If you still have these problems after doing all that, I strongly recommend that you download the file(s) again and reinstall it again.

Same for you. Follow my instructions to wbroadway above, and see if that fixes your problems.

NOTE: One other thing that I have been doing whenever I uninstall an older version and installed the latest version, I removed ALL the Captain Sim entries, for the aircraft involved, from the [i][Trusted] list in the fsx.cfg. Whether or not you do this, is up to you. But if you don't, you will end up with two listings of all the 767 gauges. It's wasted space, it just makes the fsx.cfg fat (bigger) so I remove them to keep the file trim.[/i]

Mark,

I have done the above but I'm not sure I deleted this Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll file ? is that supposed to be in the gauges dir ?

Btw, After I installed the 1.5 vs even my 757  started having the same problem. The exact same.

CS, look great until here  Wink

just a short thing: I got the same "issue" like in the 757" while going into FSX menu and return back to sim, to change f. ex. fuel or payload, after aircraft is fully "ready to go" the aircraft falls back to "cold and dark".

The Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll is, as far as I can tell, the same as the old one, it will get reinstalled by version 1.5 anyway (it will be overwritten) so you don't have to remove it if you don't want to. I just do it so I'm getting a clean install IF it gets left behind, which should only happen if FSX is running (file is in use and can't be deleted). I do silly things every now and then, like uninstalling or installing while I'm still using FSX (which I don't recommend). The file can be found in the FSX\Captain_Sim folder, not in the FSX\Captain_Sim\767 folder.

It is interesting to see that this has somehow had an affect on your 757. My 757 v4.6 is still working great. Maybe in this case, you could uninstall them both, then install the 767 and any expansion packs followed by the 757 and any expansion packs, to see if that can sort your problems out. Also. Have you done a computer reboot since you installed the 767 v1.5?

Mark,

It happened again! Of course like the  other poster above if I go try to change fuel or simply look at the weights the  plane resets  to cold and dark cockpit.-

I will re-download the installers.

Big thanks to Markoz for taking the time to help me, it worked a treat.  I think the key thing I failed to do the first time was to restart my PC before firing up FSX again.  Best wishes!

Is this update anything like the 757 4.5 or 4.6? I ask because I cannot use either of those updates--my flight loses all its settings when I load a saved flight, including IRS alignment, so the plane is unflyable. Has anybody had any such problems with the 767? I don't want to download it if even anyone has experienced such problems.

Thanks!

Also all the cockpit sounds has completely gone!
What is this..?!

I have tried everything: to reinstall, add Msvcp71.dll and Msvcr71.dll-files, updated my soundboard drivers - and all the advice I could find in the CS Support articles - NOTHING works!

I'm fed up of using hours on this so called update! I'm now using the old 1.4 version again with sounds working ok again!

..Ha, ha..!

Sorry for laughing, but as it happens and besides our frustrating sound problems, both our avatars clearly shows our state of mind at this moment..!!  Cheesy

I wonder if some of these conflicts actually is due to some kind of conflicting leftovers in the Registry..??

Morten, there is the folllowing entry in "appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml":

Code
Select All
	<Launch.Addon>
		<Name>Captain Sim 767 Sound</Name>
		<Disabled>False</Disabled>
		<Path>Captain_Sim\767\cs.sound.dll</Path>
	</Launch.Addon>

As far as I remember, this entry was not there with version 1400. I only discovered it after the upgrade to 1500.

Maybe this entry is missing in your config?

Regards,
Martin
