I had that happen to me too when I first got it. The difference was that it worked the first couple of times and then the HUD wouldn't come up anymore no matter what I did. I just uninstalled it then reinstalled it and it has been working ever since. Try that to see if it fixes it.

Hi.

The next step requires a complete uninstall. This includes deleting the entries in the registry (regedit) AFTER you uninstall the product. It also means that you will need to activate it online again when you reinstall it.

How to clean Registry:
1. Uninstall the product
2. Go to Start> Run. Type: regedit, click OK.
3. Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\)
For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\C130XPRO (64 bit example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\C130XPRO)
Make sure you are going to delete correct folder!
4. Delete the product entry folder.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Install the product.

In your case the entry is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\w001 (64 bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\w001). See the attached image.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Well I did what you suggested and still no joy!!
I even installed it on my other computer that has FSX/WINXP and it does the same thing. Any other suggestions? Also I filed a trouble ticket with CS and have heard nothing back and that was 2 days ago. Once again Mark I appreciate all the help you have given so far.

I have the same problem and have submitted one of them kb things..

I have try both of the above and still have no luck.
I have also tryed it on other aircraft with no luck.
so would be greatfull  if there is a fix for this.

It looks to be a great fun addon for FSX.

Thanks

Okay. A Final option that might get this working for you.

Check-in to Your Profile > Select Weapon for FSX > Extended Download Service > Get New Links. Click on that link and download and install it again. You could have an incomplete download. It sounds weird, but it does happen and it has actually happened to me and this final method was the only way to fix the problem that I had.

I hope this will get you going with this great add-on.

Well, I have solved the issue and it was due to a corrupted FSUIPC.DLL.
Once that was fixed, the HUD now works and I am able to fire.

BTW this was with the CS F18 with just the Weapons pack, no manual modifications.

Thanks Mark again for your assistance!

If you having this issue, delete and then re-install FSUIPC.

Hi

I'm having a problem with effects. I shoot the boat, It doesn't blow up. I fire my Hydras and Zunis. Nothing. Then a missile, and nothing. Nothing like the Video with the bell. And also, how do you get the rockets to fire at a direct target?
Thx-

why can't a product just work as advertised?

Odd that you're having so much trouble with captain sim products...

Okay-- a few questions:
1. What are your system specifications? (video card, processor, RAM...)
2. What plane are you using for weapon?
3. Do you have Acceleration (and you ARE using FSX, right)?
4. Are there any signs at all that it installed at all? Check your SimObjects folder...
5. Do you understand anything in the manual? I mean, do you know how to fire missiles, make the weapon panel show, use the weapon panel?

ok
video card processor  irrelevant question as that has nothing to do with the problem its a high end system with a 9800 GTX

I have Acceleration
i tried the stock F18 shows the target icon in the aircraft menu
I tried the the ah64 alphasim
the Iris F14,F4
A1j

I get the blank hud and the control panel
I turn on the master arm and get 0000 rounds in the indicator
no key i use fires anything i tried them all
I see nothing in the key assignments I am going off the Manuel
is their supposed to be some type of radar? the Manuel says nothing

I installed into the main fsx folder per the instructions.
I  am just so frustrated

If you are using Vista or Windows 7, did you install Weapon for FSX using the "Run as administrator" on the csw001_1000.exe?

yes what great help that was
But FSUIPC might block some FSX functions required for the Weapon. Just a thought

as in they don't know tech support don't know  so instead of posting fact we will post guesses and we think it might ...great help that is.

Weapon for FSX doesn't use FSUIPC. So there shouldn't be a conflict unless you have assigned keyboard shortcuts for the same keyboard commands that Weapon for FSX has assigned by default.

e.g. CTRL+6 (which is used to turn on the Weapon for FSX) might be assigned to some other function through FSUIPC.

You should have a new Flight in your library called "F4 at 12 O'clock", if not you have an installation problem. Try loading it and 1st up set the weather to clear skies to give yourself a fighting chance to become familiar with what you have.

Very east to find the Phantom and shoot it down, you will not have to configure anything.

I'm still not sure why your HUD is blank (do you mean totally blank, or it's just the standard HUD with no weapon stuff?), but try this:

I assume you know how to operate weapon, but just in case you aren't totally sure, here's the steps: press Shift+1 to open the control panel, and flip the master switch (far left) to turn on weapon. Everything from there is easy, just navigate to the weapon category (i.e. missile, gun, rocket) and press Ctrl+Shift+7 to cycle through the weapons in each category (for the Hydra rockets--the one with 120 ammo--you should press Ctrl+Shift+8 twice to stop it from firing a ton of rockets at once and freezing the sim).

Okay, now that we're through that, Here's my advice: if your missiles don't fire, it's probably because your firing keys/joystick buttons conflict with simulator commands. For instance, on my computer, Spacebar activated mouse look-around, so naturally I could not use that for firing. Joystick Button 1 on my joystick was break, so that could not be used either. Read the SDK (download the pdf from captain sim) and find out how to re-map keys in the CSweapon.xml file (it's located in the CS_F18 folder in SimObjects and the folders of whatever other planes you installed weapon on--you'll have to re-map for each)--I changed it to the O key and Joystick Button 3, neither of which had previously mapped commands.

Right. That's a lot of stuff, most of which you probably won't need, but I just want to include as many possible solutions as possible  Wink. If you could provide a screenshot of the virtual cockpit with the weapons panel open, that would be great, because right now all we're going off of is description (which you've provided plenty of  Smiley), and an actual picture might clearly show the problem.

Cheers,
boeing247

Okay, this probably isn't the solution, but is your HUD turned on? (can you even turn it off? I'm not sure, but I think there should be a way...)

according to the manual as long as the battery and avionics are on it should work
I tried default aircraft too i see the peaces all over fsx folder so i know it installed

looks like another reason to shelf FSX (again)
and another reason to avoid any CS product for me at least this is 2 for 2  I am sick of it  Angry Angry
Another reason I prefer Try before you BUY or demo(timed Versions) Had the demo not worked i would have known it was not worth the $$ or time.

Have you bought addons from other companies? If so, did they work? I'm beginning to suspect that your fsx installation went awry...  Huh

yes I have lots of addons  CS seems to be the only ones i ever have issues with go figure
the whole process is harder then it should be
from the block system
to the key mapping

2-1+1 map that key open this file edit that script ect...noone should have to go through that crap.
like now i am uninstalling FSX totally ran fine for a year
then ill spend the next 5 hours reinstalling everything to try to get this thing to work....day 2 I spend 99% of my time messing with it instead of playing it...BULLCRAP

This is downright bizarre... when you reinstall fsx, redownload the captain sim addons first, run fsx (before installing any other addons except acceleration) and tell us if it works...  Undecided

Are you firing the 120 ammo rockets? I had a problem with those. I just pressed Ctrl+8 a few to change the firing to 1+4 so it only fires 2 at a time instead of 60. I suppose, though, if you have bad luck with CS products, no sense in spending money on them, though I hope the seventy-some dollars you've spent on the two addons you have doesn't go to waste... keep trying! Sometimes things just start working, it's odd, and I wish it would happen more often...  Wink

Unfortunately for me the same problem!
New FSX are installed on, and after him did not change anything
I'd appreciate it if you would implement a permanent solution to the problem!

I ask the honorable CS team to help me!
The package does not work!
Re-installed the FSX
Thereafter, the CSWP package does not work!

Thank you!
