Mark,
I installed 1,1 again. and selected with out cabin. I made a test flight and there were NO  flashing.

You wrote "I don't get the flashing graphics/textures and I have the passenger cabin too."

Can you share your tweaks I can also test them.
Engines are starting.
Thanks for your advise.

Hi Sanal.

Here are the ones I changed in the fsx.cfg :

[GRAPHICS]
HIGHMEMFIX=1

[BUFFERPOOLS]
Poolsize=250000000

With the bufferpools, you need to try different numbers to see what suits your graphics card. I have an Nvidia 1280MB (1.280GB GDDR5) GTX470 and have found that it is very happy with the 250000000 (250MB) setting. You might need to try different number a bit to find the number that suits your graphics card the best.

My previous graphics card, an Nvidia 1GB (GDDR3) 9800GTX+ was happy with 200000000 (200MB). Because I saw a forum topic (one of the Avsim forums) about this, and within it,  a post that said a lot of people were finding that 200000000 was the number that seemed to suit their graphics card (it worked great for me).

You will have a [GRAPHICS] segment. But you will probably need to add the [BUFFERPOOLS], just add it at the bottom of the fsx.cfg

Back up your fsx.cfg before making changes! Wink

I just loaded 707 with Cabin+ from ACE., started FSX . immediately graphic flashing started,

That is definitly same problem like JS4100 VC Cabin with High resolution. When they lowered to madium settings flashing disappeared.

Now  Captain SIM knows what  is causing the problem, they can fix it.

I still get the JS4100 graphics flashing occasionally. All I do is reload the plane and it goes away.

To further add to my previous post above (HERE). I switched the MODE SELECTOR Knob to standby, entered my location into the INS and then turned MODE SELECTOR Knob to ALIGN. Then I turned the DATA SELECTOR Knob to DSRTK/STS and waited for the ALIGN process to finish. This time I saw the numbers descend all the way down to 05 (the green READY light came on before it got that low though). While the ALIGN process is going on, I am entering waypoints and so I never really got to see that until now.

EDIT: I added a link to the post that I was adding to.

Okay, better success now.  I don't think I was clearing the error messages before.  One thing I don't get is how the ADEU thing is supposed to make things easier.  Looks to me like it is at least as complicated to create the "cards."  But if someone has done some routes, maybe they could be made available for the rest of us.

Hi Michael.

Here is mine:

[GRAPHICS]
HIGHMEMFIX=1
SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED=1693500672
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048
NUM_LIGHTS=8
AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=1
AIRCRAFT_REFLECTIONS=1
COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1
LANDING_LIGHTS=1
AC_SELF_SHADOW=0
EFFECTS_QUALITY=2
GROUND_SHADOWS=0
TEXTURE_QUALITY=3
IMAGE_QUALITY=0
See_Self=1
Text_Scroll=1
SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693500672
D3D10=0

I added the HIGHMEMFIX=1 myself, it is/was not created by FSX. There are quite a few things you can add to fsx.cfg. It comes down to trial and error to find out which ones help, and how they help.

Some of this I got from the Avsim forum from Jesus Altuve (specifically for the "shattered" graphics). The rest I got from NickN's FSX tweaks (for Nvidia graphics cards) at SimForums.

Mark

Thanks for the info. I am trying different things to correct a situation where the screen temporarly goes black for several seconds and then returns to normal. After quittting FSX when the flight is finished I receive a message that "The Display Driver has stopped responding but is operating normaly now". I'll keep on trying different things.

Thank you
Michael Cubine

Hi Michael.

Although I haven't seen that message in quite a while, I have had it before. Maybe your settings need to lowered just a bit.

I've updated the Civa Double INS Integration to 1.2 of the 707 as the values in [Window00] changed slightly.

Fell free to test and comment on it again.

Clarification on installing CIVA INS Please.
Reply #58 - Oct 22nd, 2010 at 2:07am

How about a clarification on how to install the CIVA INS in the  707. My programming knowledge is limited and I have gotten bits and pieces from all around the forum and still no results. I have tried to use the manuals that come with CIVA but I think there is a problem in translation. Can't make heads or tails out of it. Is there supposed to be three files in the 707 file for panels and what should they be called? And should they be in any specific order? What changes should we do to them and what should they be called? I have tried to modify some and it won't let me save them. Would really like to use the INS for navigation because even after reading the manuals I can't find a thing on how to use the Doppler. Is there anybody else out there with me on this?  Sad

Don't worry, Jesse, it will surely be easier than you might currently think.

First, use this thread for questions
CIVA INS - THE ONLY THREAD PLEASE : http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1285100008
You can also look up answers there, the ones concerning the installation are very common and therefor already present.

For the Doppler, this thread will be it
Doppler Navigation SPOT ON!: http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1285938402

I recommend a forum search or just a short view in the thread list on the next support item.  Wink
