Hi Bernardo.

It all has to do with "run as administrator". Right click on notepad and select "run as administrator", then open the file you want to modify and when you are done, save it.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional and most of my programs are actually installed on different drive than the "C:" drive and so I don't have this problem. In fact, I find I'm rarely running a program or opening a file using "run as administrator" AND I can edit or modify to my hearts content without worry!

Hope this helps.

Mark

Hi Mark: Just tried as you advice...Forgive my ignorance. I've never had this problem with Notepad?

I go to the 727 panel folder,find the .cfg file at the bottom,open it with Notepad,add the lines to the autopilot section as you describe in the GPS/NAV topic and paste the lines in there. Then I click on file and click save.Then it tell me that the file already exists and if I want to replace it; I say/click yes...Then it says: ACCESS DENIED. This is the exact way I use to do this using Vista and XP....What can be different in 7? Roll Eyes

Hi Bernardo.

Look at the image and follow the numbers.

    1. Click on the Start button, then All Programs.

    2. Click on Accessories, then find Notepad and RIGHT mouse click on it so you see the dropdown menu like in the image.

    3. From that dropdown menu click on "Run as administrator". A box will pop up asking if you want to allow notepad to make changes to your computer. Click on Yes.

Now you need to open the .cfg file you want to edit with notepad. CTRL+O to open a new document, navigate to your the CS_B727-100\panel folder (make sure notepad is looking for All Files and not just TEXT files) and select the panel.cfg. You should now be able to make the changes and save them.

Hello Mark: Thanks for your advice and going through the trouble of helping me with this explicit reply.
I did exactly as you suggest. I still got the message " Access Denied".
So I Google a bit regarding the issue and somebody there suggested taking the file out to the desktop and edit in there....So I did that,fallowed your instructions making sure notepad is looking at "All Files" And it got saved: Here's a copy of the section:
[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=427,106
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005
gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 0,0, 427,106
gauge01=Cessna!Nav_GPS_Annunciator,                   400, 106, 24, 22
gauge02=Cessna!Nav GPS Switch,                          376, 106, 24, 22

Eventhough is there. When I open 727-100 and open the autopilot window the small gauges are not there???...Underneath the autopilot window.I do have them however in the GPS window.

I don't really know if this has to do with windows permissions with this new win7 install I made or what/why this isn't possible anymore?

Here is an image of the the notepad window when I'm trying to save th file.Once I click save it says the file already exits and if I want to replace it? I say yes. I get a "Ding"...Then I it says "Access Denied"

Great thread! I was able resolve my sound issues by re-loading the aircraft after loading the flight.

Any word if there is going to be an update to fix this?

Update: Nevermind. I just looked at KB#2930 and it is going to be fixed in the next SP. Thanks CS!

Dear All,

i bought the captain sim 727 version 2.3 here in germany a few weeks ago as aboxed version.

All is working fine, but i still have problems with the crew and passenger messages / sounds.
I try all fixes from this topic, i.e. 727-100 Cold-n-Dark (KSEA), msvcr71.dll and reloading of the plan, without success.

I have Win 7 64 bit, FSX SP 2.

All other sound like APU , switches etc. are ok.

So I need some help to get the crew and passenger sound availible.

Btw. when I start the sound directly from the captain sim folder, via win media player, it works perfect.

Any ideas?

Thanks & Best Regards

Sturmfahrt

Greetings!

After a re-install of FSX and the CS 721 2.4 I can not get the alt. alerter to sound off. Resetting the flight does not do it. Same with the 722, which I just bought and installed. The flaps and gear sounds work fine. Any new fixes for the sound problems?

727 Cockpit sounds

Hi everybody!

I've just installed the 727, and flown it quite a few hours lately. An absolutely brilliant bird, and my absolute favourite airliner of all time. I also had the Legendary 727 for fs9.
One problem though, the cockpit sounds won't play? I mean the clicking of buttons, altitude alert, captain/flightatt. announcements etc. Any pointers?

Cheers!

You have to load the aircraft a second time.  Not just reset the flight, you have to get out to the select aircraft box, click on your plane, then load it again.  That should get all your cockpit sounds working.

I just got this plane last week, and am having a blast with it as well.  I've been practicing short IFR flights between Edinburgh and Glasgow Prestwick.  I have all systems working properly at this point, now enjoying fine tuning my approach and landings.  Really love all the eye candy and the ACE and the freight loading and other animations.  Really top notch.

You do have to learn about some quirks, but once you do, it's really fun.  I especially like hand flying this bird.  It is really nice.

The plane is a pure joy indeed. I'm flying the Loc rwy 9 at Telluride Colorado at the time of writing. Highly unlikely for a 727 in real life, but hey it's a sim.

best regards Tor

Hello folks!!!
I have an unusual trouble with the sound, after some minutes (where I don't open other program or don't do other actions) the sounds like switches, seat bealts or no smok, or APU, disappear!!!  Angry
I tried reloading the aircraft but nothing!!!!
To have again the sounds, I have to reboot FSX and load the aircraft twice!!!! But after some minutes... one more time the sounds disappear!!!  Cry
Anybody have this issue????!!!!
How I can resolve this problem????
And why the CS with 4 s.p. wasn't able to fix this boring trouble????  Huh (sorry CaptainSim!)

Have loaded from file menu vs FSX startup, C/D B727-100 SEA and ready for TO, SEA.  Reload twice.  Cockpit sounds OK, but gone when ac is relocated to another airport.  Change any parameter and sounds are gone.  Reload at new site and still no sound.  Any suggestions?
