 10 Latest MSFS Update - Taxiing (Read 4536 times)

Latest MSFS Update - Taxiing

I just installed the latest MSFS update and now taxiing the 777 is impossible. When I try to turn, the nose wheel turns but the plane is extremely unresponsive almost as if nose wheel steering is disabled. Any help is appreciated

And yes I did turn off all the assistance options. I don't have this issue with any other plane, only the CS 777

I just tried it now, with the GOTY update, and it turns fine while taxiing. I can't see why it isn't for you.
Maybe you need to do a computer restart so it fixes the problem. Undecided

I had this issue prior to SU7 but now it is working properly. However the 777 is a big b--- and she still needs some room to turn.

I got around it in the meantime by when turning left using only my right side engine and vise versa. Helped a lot.

Perhaps modifying the settings for the nose gear "contact point" might allow it to steer a bit better. I know it's stored in Community\captainsim-aircraft-m772\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B777-200ER_GE90B\flig
ht_model.cfg
, but I need to check and see how those settings differ, if at all, from the way it's done in FSX/P3D.

Overall, I don't find it too bad. Slowing down to say 10 knots, after reaching 20 knots, it turns pretty good for me. Undecided

The reason for me thinking that it might be that, is because all the other 8th entries, on all the other lines, is 0.
That makes me think that it's possibly the turn angle, of 70o, for the nose gear.
So increasing it to say 90 (90o), or even higher, might improve the taxiing steering.

I had no luck with changing it to 90. The 777 is still going straight when I try to turn during taxi.

It did not behave this way during SU6. Only after SU7 did this happen. And yes I did a fresh re-install of FS2020 and its still doing the same thing. No other aircraft is doing this.

Again, I start off on the runway, add thrust, get to maybe 5-10 knots, slightly move the rudder. I can see the nosewheel turn but the airplane just keeps going straight. Please help!

It turns ever so slightly, just barely. But it is impossible to make any turns onto a taxiway.

For me, it is between 1 and 2 knots to turn onto the runway. The gear turns about 50-70 degrees, but it seems to slide forward, with only a slight turn. Even when going 2-3 knots.

ATP rated pilot... I know what speed to turn while taxiing. I'm telling you, the nose wheel is turning. The aircraft doesn't turn. Its like its stuck going straight. I just reinstalled for the umpteenth time. This isn't working. What now?

I think I found a clue. When I load the flight to start on the runway, it will not taxi off the runway. When you load the airplane cold and dark and push back from the gate and taxi, it seems to work fine. Any ideas?

Does this mean the taxiing doesn't work so good after you arrive, or before you take off, or both?

I just did a test, where I started on the runway, I took off, flew around the airport, and landed. I then taxied off the runway, and to a parking gate/ramp. Doing that, I found it was the same as it is when taxiing after starting from cold and dark.

Note. I was using the 777-200ER. The turns during taxiing are fine as long as the speed stays at, or below, 10 knots, turning was okay (slow but okay). I often brake slightly to assist the start of the turn. Also, the engines N1 was at between 37.0, and 44.0 during the taxiing.
