Overhead view adjustments

The available switches and knobs in the Lights Panel option and in the VC panels do not extend high enough on the Overhead panel to allow access to the IRS switches, the Engine Select switch or the Window Heat switches (so I have an EICAS warning of Window Heat with no way to turn them on) or the Passenger Signs switches .  Basically anything in a line above the fuel pumps is not visible.

I am also seeing above the Position Light switches an orange disc with the lettering "DMI 21801C partially blocking the identifier for the red beacon light.

One last question- I am assuming that there is not a way to set the pax load and weights via ACE...I have seen a reference to such a function in a checklist someone made for this aircraft but find nothing in the ACE that allows such a function.

You can use the NUM 8 key (default), or your joystick/controller POV hat switch, for moving the view up until the Window Heat and IRS buttons become visible (pressing CTRL+Space, or the NUM . will reset the view).

You do realise that the orange sticker only covers the letters RE of the word RED for the Beacon light switch? It's not like it prevents the function of the switch itself.

Passengers are no longer done using the ACE, but using the CDU. Fuel can also be changed using the CDU:Click on the MENU button > SETUP > FUEL AND PAYLOAD. There are 3 pages FUEL, PAYLOAD, and PAX/CARGO.

Thank you for the quick response.

I had tried the yoke POV Hat and it did not pan up enough.  However, using the 8 key works just fine...thank you.

As for the disc-I was aware that it did not affect the functionality of the switch-I just thought it a bit odd to see it there but after my question post I was viewing a You Tube video on CS 757 and saw the same sticker on his panel so now I don't have to call maintenance about my plane!

And I see all the load functions in the CDU now.

Once again-big thank you.

IF I ever get around to changing the overhead view, so that you can view more, and there will be no need to pan the view to access buttons/knobs/switches, I'll provide a link for the modified view. Wink

Is there a way to get the Overhead Panel to slope towards my viewpoint i.e. angled towards me rather that angling away from me? Like this?

In the aircraft.cfg, under [CameraDefinition.002], Title="Lights", you can mess with the InitialXyz numbers:

InitialXyz=0.52, -0.13, 0.30

X = Left & Right
Y = Up & Down
Z = Forward & Backward

and InitialPbh numbers

InitialPbh=-67.00, 0.00, 0.00

P = Pitch (Up & Down)
B = Bank (Left & Right)
H = Heading (yaw Left or Right)

I think the range is from 0 to 180, and -1 to -179

All I'm thinking of doing, is to move the view forward a bit, then adjust the height (up or down) so the whole OH panel is visible). See attached image (image from FSX-SE).

Edited:
To have the OH view ([CameraDefinition.002]) like they appear in the attached image, these are the setting I used:

InitialXyz=0.52, -0.057, 0.07
InitialPbh=-67.00, 0.00, 0.00

That's precisely as per your attached image I am looking for.

Can't wait for your Fix to come out for P3Dv4.4.

All you need to do is edit the aircraft.cfg file. Open it with Windows Notepad, scroll down until you find this:

[CameraDefinition.002]
Title="Lights"
Guid={C830BED3-FE60-49f1-B43F-FE6F5BD4BBEC}
Origin=Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect=NO
SnapPbhAdjust=Swivel
SnapPbhReturn=False
PanPbhAdjust=Swivel
PanPbhReturn=False
Track=None
ShowAxis=YES
AllowZoom=TRUE
InitialZoom=0.30
SmoothZoomTime=2.0
ZoomPanScalar=1.0
ShowWeather=Yes
XyzAdjust=TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category=Cockpit
PitchPanRate=30
HeadingPanRate=75
PanAcceleratorTime=0
InitialXyz=0.52, -0.13, 0.30
InitialPbh=-67.00, 0.00, 0.00

xyzRate=0.5
HotkeySelect=2

And change the lines in bold letters above, to this:

InitialXyz=0.52, -0.057, 0.07
InitialPbh=-67.00, 0.00, 0.00

And then you will have the full view of OH panel. Wink

Thanks for that. Edited as you posted that .cfg fikle, and it all worked. Now I can see the OH in a more or less perpendicular view, thus easier to get to.

One small question please, and I am done asking questions then. Why am I getting Stab Config alarm on take-off, despite the Stab Trim line(white) matching the green marker? Is there another place to set the Stab Trim?

After having changed the overhead "Lights" ([CameraDefinition.002]) view to the above, in quite a few of the 757-III PW/RR models, I sat back and took a good look at it, and wasn't that happy about the results. So I started messing with the numbers again.

Below are the settings I have finally decided on, and am happily in the process of changing in all the PW/RR/Freighter models as of now.

InitialXyz=0.52, -0.057, 0.095
InitialPbh=-67.00, 0.00, 0.00

The default settings:

InitialXyz=0.52, -0.13, 0.30
InitialPbh=-67.00, 0.00, 0.00

Markoz- Thank you for this tweak.  It works perfectly and eliminates a great deal of frustration.
