The FMC only reads the data from the Prepar3D\Captain_Sim\navigation folder (when you program the route/flight plan in the FMC). All waypoints and fixes are listed in there. Depending on when the fixes and waypoints in P3D were done (if they are the same as FSX, then that was 2006 or somewhere around then), whereas the navigation data that comes with the 757 v4.6 is dated 07/APR/2011 - 04/MAY/2011 (AIRAC 1104), so the actual locations of the some fixes/waypoint will be different from what P3D has.

If you want to uses the default fixes/waypoints/jetways of P3D, then you create the route using the P3D flight planer, save it and load it with the FMC. You will still need to add a SID and a STAR if you do that. So what happens is the coordinates for the fixes and waypoints are provided by the flight plan itself (the FMC is reading the flight plan data), and not from the data in the Prepar3D\Captain_Sim\navigation folder. The SID and STAR data will be added to the FMC flight plan, based on the coordinates in the Prepar3D\Captain_Sim\navigation sids.db and star.db files.

This applies to Prepar3D v2 as well, if that's what you are using. Wink

I installed and setup the v2 migration tool and none of the CS stuff shows up.

So, I tried your "just copy the files" --- Captain Sim dir off the main FSX dir and all the aircraft folders.  But when I load the base 757-200, I just get a black / blank VC.  The 777 loads, but eventually something causes P3D2 to crash.

The only thing that seems to show up with the tool are  the FSX default aircraft.

For the 757, I just did a repair for the install and the panel seems to appear ok...

Of course, now I don't seem the CS Load Managerin Add-Ons..

The Load Manager (ACE) DOES NOT work for the P3D installation. Captain Sim don't support their products in P3D, so we have to work it out for ourselves. I copied all the required files (I'm pretty sure I didn't miss any) and my 757 shows up nicely. As macejoj pointed out in his original post, the cockpit /panel is very dark at nigh in both P3D v1.4 and P3D v2. So unless Captain Sim decides to support P3D, we have what we have.

Dear all,
I tried to run it in p3dv2.1. I did all the same as with v2, including adding lines to .xml file for sound. (the file has different name now, it is not anymore dll.xml, but exe.xml...??).
All is the same BUT pressure packs don't work... So once engines are stopped they cannot be started again - no pressure for starter.....

Any idea what can be wrong or where cs757 has this feature and then why it does not work in v2.1 ???
any idea or help would be very welcomed !
thanks
JM

I just did a test in P3D v2.1, and the 757 caused a CTD when I pressed the DEP/ARR button.

Just so you know, I added the entries from the FSX DLL.XML into both the P3D v2.1 DLL.XML that I found in the %AppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ folder (after deleting it before installing the 2.1 patch) as well as adding them to EXE.XML. It made no difference. When using the CDU, P3D v2.1 crashed to desktop (CTD). So I can't get the CS 757 working in P3D v2.1. Sad

OH, that is a bad new then..... I cannot get back to p3dv2, so I am stacked now. Do you think it is somehow fixable in future or you believe it is getting too far from v2.1 now so another aircraft which cannot be transferred from FSX.....

There is a fix available now.  I don't know if it will help:

The fix is actually here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=5696 and not in the Avsim forum. But thank you, I got the P3D v2.1 Hotfix link from the Avsim forum nevertheless. Wink

Although all the switches that were not working before are now working, unfortunately, the CS 757 still caused a CTD at the same place as it did before (when trying to select DEP/ARR in the CDU). I haven't rebooted my computer yet, which might be needing to be done to get it to work. Undecided

I happy for you. It isn't working for me yet. I just downloaded the full P3D v2.1 so I'm going to reinstall the whole thing, instead of v2 and then the v2.1 patch. I'll see if it works then.

Mark,
How did you install the Fix. Did you extract the  FIX   directly to P3DV2,1 file?

I opened the file with WinZip. Then extracted all the files to I:\Prepar3D v2. When asked to overwrite any files, I clicked on Yes to all. Why?
