Accu-Feel v2 with 757

I was wondering if anyone is using accu-feel v2 with the 757
I was thinking about getting it and I wanted to know if it works good with the 757. I couldn't find any videos on youtube showing CS 757.

I got Accu-Feel v2 a few weeks ago and tries it with most of my aircraft.

The landings are a bit too soft in the default and the shock absorb is a little soft so I made a few adjustments in the sliders and it did seem to be a bit tighter. The main thing I liked was the more realistic sounds and a bit more grip of the tires.

Thanks Lou, I think I'm going to purchase. I have modified sounds for my 757 rr and pw engines, but sure could use more. I also like (from what I saw on videos) the fact that I'll be able to feel the touch down. Right noe it's hard to know when the main wheels touch the ground (no tire noise sound on landing).
Do you know if it has gear wind sounds?

The landing sound in A.F. is nice, but let me know what you think about the spongy feel of the gear. I had to firm my gear up a bit.

Picked it up last night. I had a couple of good jolts, thought I was going to snap my neck Grin., almost fell out of my chair Shocked.
Some sounds don't seem realistic for the 757. I'm going to mess with settings to see what I think is good. It will be hard since I never flew a 757 (did fly on one years ago). I did fly a Cessna 172 for a while, but stopped due to lack of funds.
I'll mess with settings for the Cessna at some point.
Anyways, what settings do you have for the 757. Maybe you can post a screen shot. I'd like to try those settings and tweak from their if necessary. May be a while since I don't get much time on the sim, with work and all. trying to finish resto of my car, but I'll get back with my settings at some point.

The 757 was one of the sweetest landing planes I ever flew.
AF is a bit odd in that it over does some of the things, but it seems to make the ground slipperiness of FSX at bit better.

Here is a screen shot of the AF panel. I'm still not sure where I want the sliders, so I move them around now and again.

I am sorry but I meant the sound after they are deployed - the rumble. Not the sound of the deployment itself.

Hi Mike,

Yes the various planes I tested did have the proper amount of rumble.

CS-757 at VMO had a decent amount of spoiler noise, and at 210 kts the noise was soft. The real 757 did not shake very much with spoilers deployed, but the 707 was very loud and had a lot of rumble.

CS-707 at VMO had a bit more rumble & noise and much less at slower speeds.

Brand-X 747 pretty much the same.

I set the drag noise at a fairly high setting in the set-up page which is different for every plane you select to fly.

I think the default shock absorb setting is a bit too soft, so I move the slider over to the right to stiffen the shocks on all the planes.

For the most part it is pretty good. The sounds are good, but I wish there would have been some rumble to my force feedback stick.

I'm going to set the sliders like you have and see if I can tweak, although since you flew a 757 then you must know how to get the feel of the aircraft, at least close. I'm sure it's hard to get it exact in a this simulator.
I had my slider for shock absorption set at 70 and rolling down the runway at about 120kts, the nose gear was bouncing up and down. Couldn't see it, but I was hearing the wheels screech. I had to apply forward yoke to keep the nose gear on the pavement, and as far as I know I should be releasing the forward motion on the yoke at 80kts.

I'll let you know if I come up with something and maybe you can tell me if that's correct per the real feel of the aircraft.

Since you've flown a 757, do you think the flight dynamics of the CS 757 is close to the real 757?

Hi Lou.

Would you be willing to share your 757 and 707 settings for AccuFeel?

If you go to Documents\A2A\FSX\Feel, there is a list of the FSX aircraft that you are using AccuFeel setting with, i.e. cs757-200RR. In that folder is a Feel.dat file that I'm guessing could be shared.

The easy option would be a screenshot of your Accu-Feel Control Panel showing the setting on those planes.

The screen capture above, a few posts ago, is pretty much what I've used for most of the planes.
I find the shock absorption way too soft in the default so I crank it to max, or near max.

Most of the settings are really to ones personal liking.

In the real 757 for example, you don't really hear the tire squeal that much in the cockpit, whereas in the 727 you could really hear the nose wheel - and smell it as well - on landing.

As for the flight dynamics of the CS planes I find them pretty good for a "game" simulator. Even the multi-million dollar 6 axis flight simulators that I flew were not "just" like the real plane. It is impossible to recreate all the subtle movement of the plane and the little clues that the pilot gets from them.

As for hand flying and shooting touch and go landings the CS planes in FSX are very good to show energy management and how a large sink rate will develop on final if you get too slow and behind the power curve. Depending on your control settings, the the roll rate and other controls tend to be very light even with a force feed back stick. As an example, the 707 was fairly slow in roll compared to the 727. I think the 707 is a bit too slick in drag and takes much longer than the real 707 to bleed off the airspeed when you close the throttles in level flight. The CS 727 does a good job in replicating the high sink rate of the small winged bird. The 727 was very fast in roll compared to the 707 and I find the 757 to fly very nice indeed - as long as you remember - it's a game.
