Making a choice

Okay, I'm trying to make a decision between the 767, 777, and 737. They all look very awesome and look very realistic and thats what I want. Most of my flights will be in and out of Hawaii or inter-island. The 737 will make the best out of the inter-island flights and the 767 would also too. I'm mainly looking for local airlines like Hawaiian, Aloha Air Cargo, and any airline that comes here to Hawaii. Ill just have to wait for the 737F for the cargo but I don't know when that'll be. If I were to get the 767 Ill be flying a lot of Hawaiian air flights. And if I were to get the 777, Ill be making loooonnnggg flights from Hawaii and everywhere else but that's not what I'm really geared for. Im just attracted to the looks and eventually the realisticness of actually flying it because it'll be by far better the the another company 777. So what Im really looking at is the 767 or 737.

I also want to make sure that my system will handle these planes. i have a 3.2 ghz cpu. A sapphire 6850? And 4 g. ram. Im sure it can but I just want to make sure. If it needs to be more explained ill do that down the bones of my computer. It would be nice if anybody would share their highlights about the 737 or 767.
Thanks

I love the 767 for its long haul capability. The 767 is pretty hard on the frame rates in FSX, but depending on what your 3.2 GHz CPU is, your computer could handle it. If it's an i5, i7 or one of the latest AMD, then you should do fine with it.

If you are into shorter flights, then I think that the 737 is probably better suited to you. Especially around Hawaii. The only problem is that at the moment it doesn't have the VC and Cabin, so you don't really know how it will be until the Base Pack is released.

If you choose the 767 you might have some auto pilot issues. If so just down load the latest FSUIPC. That took care of that problem for me. The auto throttle seems to work differently for everyone. You can read the threads on all this and maybe that will help in your decision making.  Consider the 727 for shorter inner Island routes. It's old school but I use it religiously when I fly in the Western United States on Vatsim.

Like Mark said, go with the 737 if you want to do inter-island flights. However, should you decide you want to start flying in other areas of the world, I'd recommend the 767.

Also, are you an experienced simmer? In my experience, more modern planes such as the 767 are easy to fly as long as you can work the autopilot.  Wink

Good point boeing247.You forgot to mention learning how to use the FMC. I did too. Roll Eyes Learning the FMC does require a lot of practice. This will apply to the 777 as well.

If you have experience with the FMC (even on other developers aircraft) then you shouldn't have any problem.

As much as I hate to say this, it is something you have to consider when buying the CS 767 or 757. Sad

One can also do short to medium flights with the 777, there's nothing that stops you from doing that.. Smiley Unless you really refuse to as it's might not be 100% realistic.. I personally enjoy 1-2hr flights with aircrafts such as 707, 747 and 767 on a regular basis, as I enjoy flying those kind of airplanes but don't have the time to spend 10+hrs on a long haul flight.. Smiley

I agree with you about there being nothing wrong with short flights in long range aircraft.
In FSX you can do whatever you want. But without using unlimited fuel, I can't do long range flights in the short range aircraft. Grin

Thanks guys for your thoughts. I know how to work the fmc and autopilot and everything needed to actually fly the plane (767). I have the CLS 767 and at first it was the best thing! But now, its like wth. The major concern that I have is the frames. If someone has the another company 757, or another company 747, can you compare one of those two to the frames that the 767 will give? As of right now, the 767 seems like a winner to me but the 737 would be great to have because of the freight, but I know that it hasnt come out yet and it might be a while, im thinking. If i cant make a choice, then Ill just have buy all of them LOL! But for now im just going to atleast buy 1 and that 1 is most likely going to be the 767 so I can fly Hawaiian Airlines flights. Oh, and to Mark, I do one of the latest AMD cpu, well its not really the newest but its pretty high in rating.

I would take the 767 hands down. Although, when CS hopefully realize the 737 NGX models, I would want to get that too. But for right now, the 767 is the best, and a lot of airlines fly them, and all over the world.  But then again, there is the FMC, and the IRS lineup. a semi-pro would need to know how to start up the 767.

oh yeah, im familiar with the procedures. its just the getting used to the feeling of being in a realistic 767 lol. if the another company 747 and CS 767 fmc's are a like, then i know how tp program the 767's fmc. the 767 seems like the plane im getting right now but its not locked in yet. im finishing up my desision on whether its the 767 or 737. maaayyybe the 777...

I don't find the 767 to be too hard on fps.. It's heavier on the fps than any of the other 767's out there, but not by much.. It's far more detailed visually and it's simulated quite well, although there is one other that some say has better system simulation but lacks a little in the visual aspect.

Personally I've tried them both, and I enjoy the CS767 more. The reason for that is that the visual experience is much better, there are more variants available and there is nothing I miss in the system simulation compared to the other one..

One thing is for sure, I'm gonna get the CS737 along with several expansions as soon as the base pack is complete with interior and all. I love to fly these old airplanes! Smiley I'm probably gonna go for the 777 as well, due to it's beauty... Smiley

I found that things I learnt to do in the "others" 747 FMC also work in the CS767 FMC and vice-verso. So you will be fine with the CS767 FMC. Wink

Yeah. Im sure Ill do fine because the only problem I have with the another company 747 is the IRS. IT NEVER ALIGNS even though i set it to instant but anyway, not trying to get off topic, I think the 767 will do fine. In that way, I can do some Hawaiian Air routes. If I change my mind by next week, Id probably get the 737 because I fear that I wont have the time to be making 4-6 hour flights. I got other things to do and worry about.

Re: FMC - How do I change destination airports while enroute??  I tried routes, Dep/Arr, all sorts of ways, but never able to lock in a new destination, in which I then can assign STARS and Approaches. Shocked
