No Target symbol appearing on aircraft

I have only one target symbol appearing in the aircraft selection menu, that applied to the CS Weapons embedded F/A 18. When I select the aircraft I want then use the CS Weapons 'Load' function, nothing happens, even though that App tells me the weapons have been loaded. This applies to third party aircraft as well as default.

Not only that, but I can't call up the weapons panel in the cockpit.

In this state the CS Weapons program is useless. I have read the manual 3 times and can't see where I've missed anything. I have looked at the SDK and that is way abobve my head.

What is wrong here?

Hi Chandy

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Weapon for FSX to see if that gets it working.

Uninstalling and reloading did the trick, with the following exception - the target symbol still does not appear over the loaded aircraft.

I guess I'll just have to trust that the wepaons load went ahead.

One peculiar thing, though: when I brought down my first aircraft, a learjet, I had a feeling that I had done something reprehensible. I suppose that testifies to the depth of immersion/realism in the sim.

I'll look for military targets from now on (I promise!  Wink. In the meantime let me say that I like this addition to the flight simming experience and I would support its further development.

Same here, I know it's just a simulator, but I almost feel bad when I gun down a 737 and watch it crash into the ocean...

There's also something weird about shooting down a Tomcat with an F/A-18...

I must be mean. I feel no remorse at shooting down any aircraft that gets near me, be it civilian or military, friend or foe. In my eyes, they are all fair game. And I sure do love it! Cheesy

Lol, I know just what you mean, Mark! Now, you wanna have even more fun with it? Download the Formation Flight Tools for FSX from mudpond.org. Then go to your favorite out of the way airport, set up a formation of your favorite targets, wait for them to get airborn and blast them into flaming hunks of falling metal! My wife keeps coming into the computer room to see what I am giggling insanely about... Grin

That sounds like a great idea! I'll have to give it a try for sure. Grin
