Not sure if this is getting addressed on a patch. I would say the trim on the 707 is a bit more user friendly than the trim on the 727. On the 707, I usually get stabililized on my initial climb, then engage autopilot on control pitch trim with the autopilot pitch trim wheel. On final approach when I disconnect autopilot, a little pressure on the yoke usually gets me to my target descent rate.

The only complete solution is to trim through a registered version of FSUIPC.  You can then specify the amount of trim for each button press.  The only downside is that the trim sound may get clipped a little depending how much you tone down the amount of trim per button press.

I trim my 707 the same as LOU. I "tap" the buttons assigned to trim up and trim down.

That said. Here is how I use it most of the time. When line up on the runway, I set the trim for takeoff. As soon as I have raised the landing gear after takeoff, I hit "Z" to activate the AP (this automatically applies Attitude Hold) and from then on I use the Trim Wheels on the AP to control my 707's attitude for the duration of the climb. I use the same method for descent until Approach and just prior to landing (usually @ DH of 200 feet) when I turn the AP OFF. She lands beautifully most times (depending on weather and such). It works perfectly fine for me using that method.

Thank you for your great tips. I am glad to learn that CaptainSim is working on the trim fix.
Here is my nugget: I find using the keyboard keys to command the trim is a bit less sensitive that the joystick ones. The tapping rule applies there as well but it is a bit more "friendly" than the absolutly off joytick one.

The aircraft is really challenging and very rewarding to fly well, especially after flying something with "Vertical Speed" in front of you on the glare shield!
