Obscured flight vision.

Find the Captin's seat is set in low position, resulting in eye level directly opposite the forward panel. When flying, all that can be seen is the sky and the clouds. On a landing approach it's impossible see the ruway on the finial, it just guess work. Were, the 727 has great vision, due to the raised sight level over the forward panel.

Has anyone else experienced a vision problem with the 707-300?

I don't know why your view would be like that. I raised the "eyepoint" a bit to get a slightly better view over the glare shield though.

I would suggest you check you aircraft.cfg file and make sure the "eyepoint" is set correctly. Open aircraft.cfg with a basic text editor (I use notepad) and go to this section:

[Views]
eyepoint=55.0, -1.6, 5.8    //55.0, -1.6, 5.55

The colors represent: my setting and original setting.
Make sure yours are the same as in the red text.

Hope this helps.

good suggestion from markoz...you can also use shft+enter to 'raise' your seat and shft+backspace to "lower' the seat. hold shft down and hit the other button to to raise/lower to your liking.

Mark,

Thanks for the tip as to changing the aircraft.cfg file. Reset the eyespoint view to 55.00,-1.6,6.00, this view in my opinion is now equal to the 727's view.

Thanks.

Jeff,

The way you have detailed to reset the 'seat' hight is easer than changing figures in the aircraft.cfg file.

Thanks

If I need to move around the cockpit, I use that method.

Eyepoint (move back) CTRL+ENTER
Eyepoint (move down) SHIFT+BACKSPACE
Eyepoint (move forward) CTRL+BACKSPACE
Eyepoint (move left) CTRL+SHIFT+BACKSPACE
Eyepoint (move right) CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
Eyepoint (move up) SHIFT+ENTER
Eyepoint (reset) CTRL+SPACE

I thought that synergy's problem was the eypoint setting in the aircraft config file and therefore, the reason for my original reply. Wink
