Flight Director

I really have 2 questions.

1. My Flight Director has no effect on the aircraft. The autopilot works great but when I switch it off and try to use the FD nothing happens. Anyone any ideas ?.

2. Is there a way of getting the Autopilot/FD to follow a FSX flight plan ?.

Reckon this is the best sim so far from CS.

To fly a normal flight plan done with FS Flight Planner, just create the plan, click on OK to return to your flight. Once you have taken off and are ready to follow the flight plan, turn the Autopilot Mode Selector knob to NAV and it should follow your flight plan.

The 707 features a system like the 727 where both things (FD and AP) are separately driven.
So the FD can show you one thing while the AP follows another. The modern planes usually link those two systems, so their FD will show you where their AP will point to (when activated).

So if you want to have both on the 707, a FD showing and an AP driving you in the same direction, make sure to both operate them in the same modes. E. g. "Nav" on both would fit here.

Thanks gents. Suggestions work fine.

I thought they were what I had tried before, but in my enthusiasm to fly the new sim I guess I had something else set wrong.

This happens all the time at my side, ozflyer. So don't worry, it only makes you stronger.  Smiley

I only read the instructions when things don't work or I don't understand something! Until then, I'm off flying.
