I sometimes have the same problem, turning off the AP and then selecting VOR or LOC etc, then turning the AP back on again seems to work.
I also have a hard time getting the Heading Hold Switch to stay on, it just keeps flipping back off everytime when using the mouse, however I can get it to stay on if I use the keyboard CTRL H. Strange.

For those of you getting no AP functions at all, you can try loading the default cesna and turning on the Avionics switch. Don't know if this will help, but I do know that some of the other Captain Sim planes AP stop working if you don't do this. You can also asign a keyboard command for the avionics power.

Strange indeed. CTL+H only sets the Heading Bug for me. It won't turn the switch ON or OFF.

Try using the Heading Hold when the Mode Selector Switch (#5 in the image) is set to VOR.

Thanks Mark, I will have to see what mode its in the next time that switch won't stay on.  As far as the CTRL +  H, It toggles the Heading hold switch for me. I discoverd this when I was trying to figure out how to get this plane to follow a heading, Found this keyboard command in the manual Part II page 47 "Heading Selector Switch (Ctrl+H) Smiley

I sincerely dont mean this in the wrong way, but is the autopilot being worked on? It seems as if its a little.."off". Any change of an upgrade in the future? Just a default GPS autopilot feature would be great. I know the plane is modeled after the real world and I TRULY appreciate the effort.. the vc looks OUTSTANDING by the way! I was just really looking forward to some long hours in the plane but cant seem to get it to go where I want it without having to fly manually. Thanks guys, and I do appreciate the great detail put into the plane.

p.s. I have tried the previous solutions.. but still cant get any kind of nav tracking to work. I must be doing something wrong.

I've got to admit I installed the default B738 AP into my panel.cfg and using it to get a grip on what is happening within the B52 model. There is obviously some conflict and things go haywire but least I can see what is happening and putting a procedure together.
