Ok as of now with my, and others initial testing, have found that the flashing stops when every plane is set to VC only in ACE.

Thanks for your feedback. It's seems the problem is the complete model (with the passenger cabin, wings and the textures) is huge and gives some kind of marginal load on the computer (video memory I believe) that causes this kind of artifacts like flashing.

Just completed a flight from KPBI - KATL, workaround is verified, no flashing.

To Mark:

The fix for the other JS4100 is in their configuration utility and is associated to the VC.

Simply change "Virtual Cockpit Model Options" to medium.

I have what I would class as a very good and powerful system and I want my Full Version VC in that plane. All I do is reload the plane and the problem goes away. Problem solved (for me). It was just that my CS707 did an identical thing, so I felt it worth stating that. With the CS707 it has happened only once in three days which include quite a few short flights, a long flight and being loaded into FSX numerous times.

Prob. with vers. 1.1 cockpit that I think I solved

After installing vers. 1.1, I experienced problems with the cockpit with blank squares momentarily flashing, and lines dark lines running through the cockpit. I remembered that after installing vers. 1.1, FSX did not ask me if the CS707 dll's were trusted.  So I uninstalled vers. 1.1, opened up my FSX.cfg file, and erased all the entries under the "trusted" heading.  When FSX restarted, it asked me if the CS dll's were trusted, I said yes, and the cockpit appeared with no problems.  I hope someone will find this useful.  Mike Gutierrez

I just wanted to report that I too am experiencing the flashing VC textures with v1.1. The strange thing is that I installed v1.1 on Saturday morning (not having ever installed v1) and had no problems with any flashing that Saturday or the following Sunday - and I had the passenger cabin activated for all my flights. Today, however, I suddenly started getting the flashing textures and I'd made no modifications to the plane or the system. And I've only flown the American livery so there wasn't even a livery change. Turning off the passenger cabin eliminated the flashing.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, FSX Acceleration, an Intel 930, an nVidia 470, and 6 GB of Ram.

Hi Robert.

That is similar to how it happened to me. First couple of days - perfect, then wham - shattered graphics. So I have set my [BUFFERPOOLS] poolsize=250000000 in my fsx.cfg and it seems better and I'm back to using the fullvc & pax cabin with a problem (so far).

In case you don't know how to do it, or haven't done it, I added this line to the bottom of the fsx.cfg file and saved it:

[BUFFERPOOLS]
Poolsize=250000000

BACKUP the fsx.cfg before making any changes!

CS,

What size of Video memory  do you think is sufficient to play 707 with cabin?
Thanks
Sanal

Sanal,
depends on your system and FSX setup.
Average 1G video card will do. Some extra RAM is good idea as well.

Alex,

Thanks for your reply.
I made some more long flights and few short flights. Majority of time I am still getting flashing,
I have sufficient Video memory in  my systems. FSX high settings with 707 ,still 1485MB memory available. GTX480

ACE is not working. I am keep checking  Flight Deck only and  clicking save, it goes gray, but my check mark disappears. Still Exterior attached to 707.

Some flights flashing disappears, I enjoy the flight. Most of the days it is back. Sad
BTW, Doppler and INS are working perfect
If I am an  only member is experiencing with this problem. Then forget it. You do it when you have a spare time. Cry

Hi Sanal.

Have you tried doing a reinstall? Or maybe even get a new link and download the 707 v1.2 again to see if that fixes up the ACE issue. Even with my i7, 8GB DDR 1600 and nVidia GTX 470 with 1280MB GDDR5 memory, I get the flashing graphics sometimes, it is only when using the full cabin.

If ACE isn't doing it for you. Try changing the model.cfg in the model.b and model.adv folders. The changed parts are bold.

model.b. from this:
[models]
normal=..\model\csx701_320b
interior=..\model\csx701_interior

to this:
[models]
normal=..\model\csx701_320b
interior=..\model\csx701_interior_light

model.adv. from this:

[models]
normal=..\model\csx701_320adv
interior=..\model\csx701_interior

to this:
[models]
normal=..\model\csx701_320adv
interior=..\model\csx701_interior_light

Hope this helps.

I uninstalled the plane including all left over folders then installed the update fresh and it fixed the flashing problem, however Aces still doesnt work here. Since CS closed the thread about it I guess I'm stuck with that.

Is this the same ACES problem as Sanal is having? If it is, you can try my workaround. That should help for now, at least.

I dont know what sanal's problem is, but mine is that Aces will not retain changes.

Hi JayG.

OK. So that means you are having the same problem with the ACE as Sanal. Try the fix I posted in reply #23 above.

Hope this helps.

I identified the ACE problem and FIXED. Every time,  I try to make  a   clean uninstall / reinstalling ,I found old October 15th 707 and  cfg   file was still reamaing in FSX Sim Objects / airplanes folder. Therefore  corrupted ACE was remaining unchanged. How it is possible, I dont know.

Manually I deleted October 15 installation from FSX Sim Objects /Airplane folder and Today Nov 1,2010 installed fresh 707 from Captain Sim side.IN Sim Obcets/Airplane date turned toNoc 1, 2010 And  new ACE saved  the" Flight Deck Only"
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Now, only problem still remaining is "Flashing". May be  some one will get  lucky like me and will solve this problem also. Grin Grin
