The mod fix for the 777-300ER 1.4

Just updated the 777 300 in the MSFS market place here's my observations

1. The 1.32 mod no longer works, expected but we need it back for simbrief integration, VNAV, and weight and balance.

2. The EFB does not work screen is dark.Note I'm running the SU15 beta so that maybe the issue.

3. The plane is no longer nose heavy on takeoff, now though it climbs like a rocket ship, climbing 5 to 6k all the way up! At least I can get it off the ground on takeoff

4. In VNAV it won't go higher then 240kts even though the FMC has 310kt set. It can be overridden though!

Figured out the EFB Need to click on lower right screw, rather than the pwr button one would expect

In all areas that you listed the 777-300ER 1.4 is identical to the 1.32.

Probably the reason.

Thank you for updating the CS Store model!

i HOPE CAPTAIN SIM WILL MAKE USE OF THE FOLLOWING TO CREATE A MODIFIED wlrs-captainsim-b77w-ge90 FOLDER THAT WILL WORK WITH THE NEW ANIMATIONS, AS IT IS TOO EASY FOR INDIVIDUAL USERS TO MAKE MISTAKES FOLLOWING MY INSTRUCTIONS.

It also would not be hard to make 1.3.2 work with the MSFS Marketplace versions following the modification to a folder name I described here:
https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1697590840

I got the CS Store version working with Fix 1.3.2 but it took some doing.

These are the changes to the 1.3.2 FIX to make it work with the new CS Store 777-300ER with animations.  In the following, you will be copying from the newly installed CS777-300ER folder to the wlrs-captainsim-b77w-ge90 folder, installed in the Community folder.  I suggest you make a copy of that folder as a backup.  THESE CHANGES DO NOT INVOLVE ANY MODIFICATIONS OF THE NEWLY INSTALLED CS777-300ER FROM CAPTAIN SIM - ONLY COPYING ENTRIES FROM THAT FOLDER TO THE wlrs-captainsim-b77w-ge90 folder AS EXPLAINED BELOW.

1) Copy the new version of the m773_305.xml file from the CS777-300ER model folder to the corresponding folder in the 1.3.2 CS777-300ER model folder and overwrite.  DO NOT COPY THE m773_305_Interior.xml file!

2) In the CS773 model folder, open m773_305_interior.xml file with notepad and copy the entries beginning with
<Component ID="EFB1">
and ending just before the following entry at the very end of the file.
  </Behaviors>
</ModelInfo>

These are the entries for the new animations.

Open the Fix 1.3.2 m773_305_interior.xml in that folder's model folder.

Go to the very end of that file.
Paste what you have just copied (from the CS773 m773_305_Interior.xml) into the Fix 1.3.2 version just before the entries at the very end,
</Behaviors>
</ModelInfo>

3. In the CS773 folder, open the panel folder and then open the panel.cfg file with notepad.

   A) Near the end of the file are two entries, [VCockpit16] and [VCockpit17]

        Copy both entries at the end of the corresponding file in the Fix 1.3.2. 77W folder, right after entry [VCockpit15].
        These are the entries to activate the EFB panel that controls the new animations.

   B) You need to compare the entries, in the two panel.cfg files,for the textures in the CS77W panel folder and in the fix 1.3.2. panel folder.  I found that the names for the pfd texture (entry 1) the mfd texture (entry 2) and the FMC texture (entry 5) are  changed in the new CS773 with animations.  In the new panel file the textures have a number 1 after them, in the Fix 1.3.2. version they don't, resulting in blank screens.  Change the 1.3.2. panel.cfg entries to what you see in the new CS777-300ER panel.cfg file.

I did this rather hurriedly so be sure and back up the wlrs-captainsim-b77w-ge90 folder.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO MAKE ANY CHNAGES TO THE NEW CS777-300ER FOLDER WITH THE ANIMATIONS.

Thanks Mike for posting this, unfortunately I have the MS Store version so the xml files are in bin format so that's not an option!

I think I found a solution.  The 1.3.2 Fix 77W folder does not need the m773_305.xml in its model folder, so you don't need to copy it from the CS 77W folder (which, as you said, you can't do).  You can just delete it.

However there is one problem with removing it: you also have to update the layout.json file found just below the top level folder.  You need to delete the entry pointing to the m773_305.xml file in the Fix 1.3.2 model folder. If you don't you will get a useless skeletal model.  Be sure and backup the layout.json file!

The easiest way to do this is to use this tool:
https://github.com/HughesMDflyer4/MSFSLayoutGenerator/releases/tag/v1.1.1

You just download the MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe file, place it somewhere - no further installation necessary.  Then you just drag the layout.json file on top of it and it will be updated.

The only other thing you need to do is paste in the animations section to the m773_305_interior.xml file in the 1.3.2 Fix folder ... model folder.  Since you cannot get to these settings, I'm attaching a file with the settings from the CS Store version - should be identical (I hope!).  Just follow the instructions I gave above, except copy and paste the entire file I am attaching.  The rest should be the same as my instructions for the CS Store version.

Good luck and please let me know if this works!

Mike

ya after 1.4 update somethings broke for me. Aircraft won't climb past 40000 feet without stalling. Keeps over speeding. Goes above speed threshold limit to climb. Aircraft also has issues with lining up with ILS systems. Everything else is excellent. I know its to much to ask:
1. Safety announcements in the cabin
2. Ability to turn off cabin lights
3. select vertical speed without having to looks at the main display for pink line

I purchased the 777 Trent 800 and now the ils doesn't work. I have approach mode on but nothing on the screen, no diamonds, nothing, so ils landings are out the question at the moment

Hi selpheed.

If you are not seeing those entries in the CS 777-300ER folder installed from Captain Sim(NOT the wlrs-captainsim-b77w-GE90 folder) you have not updated your installed CS777-300ER.

Go here (you may need to be logged in):

https://captainsim.net/products/m777/sops/

Then click on Updates, then 777-300ER.  Then follow the instructions for using ACE.  It is a free upgrade.

Let me know if that fixes the issue.

Also, in Reply #5 above, I added a text file that has the entries to paste into the m773_305_interior.xml file in the 1.3.2 Fix model folder, so you don't need to copy from the CS 773 folder for that.  Go to the very end of the m773_305_interior.xml file.  You will see the following entries:
</Behaviors>
</ModelInfo>

Paste the entire content of the text file I supplied JUST ABOVE those two entries.  Save the m773_305_interior.xml file with the new entries (make sure the file name hasn't changed and still ends in xml).

You can also find ACE by going to your installed CS777 folder in the Community folder, captainsim-aircraft-m773.  Click on it, then navigate to Captain_sim>ACE and click on the ace_777.exe file.  It should download the version 1.4. installation exe. I recommend that you uninstall the previous version and then install the new ones.

Mike

NOTE that there is no ACE for MSFS Marketplace aircraft, but they should be updatable through the marketplace.
