Cannot create a support Ticket.

Hi there,

So I would have preferred to make a proper support ticket but your website merely sends me off to look at a FAQ/"Knowledge Base" and there's no option to create a new ticket as far as I can see.

I have seen that you consider this release to be 100% done and worthy of its price tag, unfortunately I disagree. I would prefer an amicable path to a refund. If you wish to get in touch I'd be happy to discuss matters via email rather than here publicly.

Well, I think I see how this is going to go. Ignore the forum post, ignore the email.

Regarding those that praise your release, I'm glad for them that they enjoy what they received. I have nothing to say against those that are happy with their purchase. I see that some people have felt attacked or abused for enjoying it and that is wrong.

But respectfully.. I do disagree that this release was worthy of its price tag and I'm sorely disappointed in CaptainSim as an established name to release something where even single line config edits (e.g. empty weight and MTOW) were not done. I speak from experience to say that anyone who has your experience in the world of flight simulator addons and has so much as made the effort to open up the config files in a text editor and read them could have dealt with such simple things in *minutes*.

Ultimately though, it's on me for trusting you as an established creator of addons, rather than seeking out reviews and additional information... so enjoy your 30 dollars from me this time but I shall not be purchasing any further products from CaptainSim.

Nevertheless, thank you for a nice set of 3D models at least. I hope someday the wider community finds the time to put some improvements into the systems and I guess I'll make my own quick edits for personal use in the meantime, then at least I might be able to utilise the addon in the way which literally every other plane I've tried(From stock, premium, deluxe and both freeware and payware 3rd parties) has been compatible.

Sorry. We are a small team which is a bit busy with the release.

We already have a list for the 1.1 update. The MTOW is in there.

Ok, I'll give you a pass on the small team though I would note you had replied to multiple other posts that came after mine. On the benefit of the doubt though, it's reasonable that you may have simply missed it.

Fixing MTOW and empty weights are a start yes, but as I said these are very simple and quick edits. What about missing sounds, ground vehicle and jetway misalignments, fuel amount (changing the actual tanks is at least slightly more complicated since you rely on the obviously defective asobo 748 code and nobody is holding their breath that Asobo is going to fix it on their own, but you could change their capacities relatively easily I think)...

If you want to use Asobo's code as a base, I personally consider that acceptable and I would have been content with a plane produced to approximately the same standard as the base Asobo crafts (Please note that all the Asobo craft have pretty beautiful exterior and cockpit modelling, and $30 is the price tag for *5* such aircraft from them. A smaller team would potentially need to charge a little higher of course but... 5x higher? And you are using their systems code anyway). I cannot understand your reluctance to invest even what I estimate to be a couple of weeks into at least doing some customization on it though. Making it say 777 on the FMS and fixing the EICAS should not take an experienced developer too long.

Honestly, if you wanted more understanding it might've be easier if you could just hold your hand up and say "Look, sorry guys we don't have the team members and knowledge of the MSFS SDK to get this done right now." My first reaction to the status of the addon was 'Ok, this isn't up to a usable standard for me, but they'll probably fix and update it in a few days'. Then I saw you going around on the forums and Facebook telling everyone that this is a 100% release and you have no intention of changing or fixing any of the Asobo code.

Is it the case that you simply don't have a team member able to do that level of work currently?

We'd use it as an excuse, but negative.
The 777-III is meant to be different. Great visuals+default systems, all for a fraction of a regular airliner price.

So it IS pretty much done except the teething issues.

Then it's a terrible idea in my opinion.

I'm not sure many people investing in addons (and let's be fair $30 isn't *that* cheap right now) actually want great visuals when they are combined with very poorly implemented and broken base systems.

You know as well as I do that the Asobo avionics are broken and will remain broken for an extended period. Our best hope is that the working title guys will fix it /eventually/ in the official side of things but that could be years since the CJ4 and Garmin systems are their priority for now.

If the Asobo code worked ok, you might've been on to something. Now you're in the midst of controversy because you've disappointed everyone half-way serious about simming. Unless you want to do extremely casual flying and care for the looks only, This plane is pretty useless.

It can't even reliably do a direct-to, so using Vatsim, IVAO or any other real-person ATC is out the window.

It can't open the exterior doors so Self-Loading Cargo doesn't work with it.

It identifies as a 748 so economy sims (e.g. OnAir) don't work properly with it.

All of the ground vehicles don't align properly so it looks bad at the gate too.

And since it's using 748 specs for a lot of things, a simbrief plan will be all kinds of wrong.

Some of these can be fixed with quick config edits so I hope they're all on your to-do list, but without functioning avionics it's never going to be useful for anyone using the 'real' ATC services.

So like I said, if you can't or won't "fix" it.. then it's going to have to depend on the community to do so and it really undermines your credibility as a maker of addons.

I guess I can forgive you for an idea that didn't work out but for darn sure I will be very skeptical of any further addons you release.
