Hi Mark
Thank you for your reply

My default start up flight in both sims is the default one, the warplanes.

In P3D v4 I have no issues but in v5 when I change the default plane to the Tristar the sim freezes while it does the initialization and never starts it closes

This text of you:
I just started the L-1011 in P3Dv5, and after selecting "Ready for Takeoff" (twice), it is then in a "ready to fly mode".

Where do you select the ready to take off? I thought that was automatically set

Does the 767 is also ready to tale off?

Thanks
Carlos

Hi Mark
I would also like to report that the elevators in the tail sometimes when they are set at certain angle and you need to lower the nose of the plane, they go right to default position not just a click lower that you need they go just default and this means sometimes a crash as the plane drops too fast and nothing but nothing can avoid the fall. Can this be fixed?

Thanks

As I said, my default flight, is the C172 (I copied the C172 from FSX to P3Dv3, P3Dv4, and P3Dv5), in a cold and dark setting, except that the Avionics swith is ON, so that's why the L-1011 is not in a ready to fly mode for me when I load it.

To select the "Ready for takoff" setting go to the Menu > Add-ons > CS 1011 Captain II > Panel state: Load
Then from the box that appears, select READY FOR TAKEOFF

See attached image (it's from P3Dv5, but it's the same in P3Dv4)

Note. It takes quite a while before I see the Add-ons appear in the menu.

Yes. You select it from the CDU. Click on the MENU button on the CDU > SETUP > STATES > READY FOR TAKEOFF

Reinstall the L-1011, in both P3Dv4, and P3Dv5. Make sure you turn your Anti Virus program, or Windows Defender, OFF! And be sure to right mouse click on the installer, and select the "Run as administrator" option!

I forgot to say that I normally set the trim in the L-1011 to 6 for takeoff. I have found that this will give me a decent nose up attitude (not to high, not too low).

After take off, once I reach about 1000 feet AGL, I click the AP switch to CWS (Control Wheel Steering mode). This means that I can move the nose up/down a bit, and it will be held at the release attitude (this also works for banking)

Sometimes, I turn the VS switch on the AP to ON, and have it set to +1000fpm. Once I get about 1000 feet above the ground, I press the AP, and it brings the nose down to a 1000fpm climb (good for gaining speed wwhile raising the flaps). The IAS will be set to abpout 220 (230 IAS is the maximum speed for the flaps at 15o, and I don't want to exceed that).

If you look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJB3uKCHow4 which I made using the L-1011, when it was first released for FSX/FSX-SE, you can see the AP settings I use for takeoff. Don't worry that the video is about a dual INS flight using the SimuFly Delco CIV-A INS in FSX.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mark
Thanks for all the information

I manged to find the menu to select the ready to take off mode but next time I launch the plane it starts again dark and cold which I don't want.
I want that every time I launch it, it is ready to take off, by default specially in P3D v5 because when the plane starts doing the initialization P3D 5 crashes. It simply closes, it is a crap version.
On the other hand I hardly take off or land inside the cockpit so I really don't need to touch any instruments at all, I just use the arrows to control and the F1 to F8 keys plus the num pad
What I like is to see the plane flying over beautiful landscapes of cities.
This said, how can I set the plane to always start on ready to fly mode as it was before?
Thanks
Carlos

After some testing, this is how I was able to get the 1011 Captain II to start with the engines running in P3Dv5 first time, every time:

1. Load the L-1011 into P3Dv5
2. Select Add-ons > CS 1011 Captain II > Make sure Panel State: Never Load Default is visible (click on it if it says Panel State: Always Load Default for it to change to Panel State: Never Load Default (I didn't see it change, but the next time I navigated to it, it had changed).
3. Exit P3Dv5
4. Restart P3Dv5, and at the Scenario Screen (make sure the Scenario Screen shows when you start P3Dv5, by selecting (checkmarking) Show on Startup on the Scenario Screen) select LOAD
5. Select 1011 Captain Cleared for takeoff (KVPS)
6. After it loads, the engines should be running. From there, you can select a different airport, change the weather, and the date/time, and still have the engines running after making those changes.

Note. Once you have selected Panel State: Never Load Default, every time you start P3Dv5, simply load the 1011 Captain cleared for takeoff (KVPS) from the Scenario Screen, and you're good go with #6.

Thats cool workaround but not a fix.
I don't have the default livery and the scenario doesn't load, I don't intend to reinstall it.

The issue has been reported 3 months ago, and even though the developer was adamant the issue doesn't exist, it clearly does as proven in this thread.
Will it be addressed and fixed in foreseeable future?
