Fuel Load via CDU

Hello,

I searched but could not find a thread on this issue.

I'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden I can no longer load fuel via the CDU (using ver .97). Whatever I key in for fuel on the CDU it reverts back to 100% . . . everytime. Even when I go into the "Vehicle" tab in the simulator and set the fuel, it does the same thing. Unless I'm flying a long haul it sort of makes the aircraft unusable.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Does anyone know how to fix it.?

You are accidentally not standing at a fuel area in the scenery?

Good thought but, no. I’m at the gate and after I apply external power and shut down the engines I start the preflight part of which is loading the fuel via CDU. It worked fine until this morning. No idea what happened.

Setting the fuel in the CDU (v0.97) works fine for me in P3Dv4, and P3Dv5. Undecided

OK. But that doesn’t help me to figure out why it stopped working. I was hoping someone could help fix whatever happened as it’s a recent development.

Did you update (Repair), the v0.97, or did you uninstall v0.96 before installing v0.97? I did the Repair.

Interesting point.

ACE stopped working so I did a “repair” of v.97 and it seems that’s when the fuel load issue started. (I have ACE as an exclusion for my AV.)

As much as a PITA doing an uninstall/reinstall is, perhaps that's the way to go. Undecided

Thanks. I’ll give that a try tomorrow and I have learned a trick or two when reinstalling so hopefully it won’t be that painful.

BTW, should I always do an uninstall when updating? I don’t think this latest update had anything in the note file on whether or not to remove v.96 before installing v.97.

When installing an update, and using the "Update or Repair" option, it should replace all of the older files with the new ones, so either method should work the same (theoretically anyway).

Just make sure you use the "Run as administrator" option, and your AV, or Windows Defender, is turned off/disabled.

Thanks, Mark.

I did a full uninstall of v97 then reinstalled. All seems to be working well now. Weird. I guess something somehow became corrupted.

In the past I just ran the update and everything was fine.

Much appreciated.

Very typical win10 AV behaviour: to break something silently. https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1489697628

Thanks. I read that post earlier, however, finding the location proved impossible. I went into the Win 10 Control Panel but couldn’t find it.

I absolutely despise the fact that a user of WIN 10 can no longer choose what updates are installed or when. At least in WIN 7 I could uninstall updates that either broke the PC or caused problems. Now it just updates whether you want it to or not.

Thanks CS for your help. I look forward to continued improvements and refinement of the 767 II.
