I just completed two more landings at KSEA. For the first flight, after takeoff and climb to altitude, used the Sim Icon AP to select HDG mode and turned to 070, then to 160 as before. Set 110.3 for DME-1 and 116.8 for DME-2. About 20 NM from KSEA, turned to heading 250. Then used heading mode to turn to approximately heading 340, switched to VOR approach mode with VOR set to 340. At about 17 NM the glide slope turned from yellow to green - both the VOR and Glide Slope lights were green. The aircraft turned as needed to the correct heading. Did notice that the Center Panel VOR / LOC was correct, but on the left side of the panel the VOR / LOC was not selected.
Took off again, and after turning to 070 and 160 degrees using HDG mode, switched to VOR mode and intercepted the 160 radial outbound. The aircraft followed HDG mode, set to 210, until the VOR radial was intercepted, when the VOR light turned green and the plane turned left to follow the 160 radial outbound. About 25 NM from KSEA, near Carbonado on my Plan-G3 display, switched to HDG mode, turned to 250 degrees. Near Airport 2WA4, turned right to about HDG 340, and when level switched DME-1 to 110.3, and selected VOR / APP mode. Turned off ALT Hold mode, both lights turned green, and made a normal landing at KSEA 34R. Conclude that I can track an outbound or inbound VOR radial, and the VOR light turns green when the VOR course is intercepted. Sometimes overshoots the radial, but corrects itself and re-establishes itself on the right course. Why Markoz and others are having problems getting the VOR and APP lights to turn from yellow to green is most puzzling.
