Title: Re: SP 1.6 is available! Did'nt work an crash the FSX.
Post by trestini on Apr 6th, 2015 at 4:08pm
In an attempt to resolve the problem described in the ticket 11107, I came to the following conclusions. Definitely the product doesn't work. I had another CS products installed: 727, C130 and 777. So I uninstalled all the products, and I've deleted all the records of the CS in regedit. So I installed upgrading 737200 1.60 and the same problem happens. When I open the FSX and try to open the aircraft, the FSX crashes. I am user of Flight simulator for 15 years. I consider myself an advanced user. I have spent these years more than 3 thousand dollars in equipment and software.  And in all these years I've never had to deal with a product line as bad as CS aircraft. When purchasing the aircraft, you receive a package of bugs. The only product quality is the textures of aircraft. But all other requirements are problematic. Customer support also doesn't work well. In all my attempts they never had been able to solve these problems. The only way I could use the 737200 so far (I bought the product in March 2013), was spending hours in front of the computer by applying the solutions of users posted in the pilot lounge. Despite the bugs, then these solutions, it was possible to use the product. When I received last week, the message about the update to version 1.60, I uninstalled my patched version 1.00, relying once again on CS and once again the disappointment was great. Once again the only thing expected of a pay ware product is that the problems have been solved before release. I have installed on my computer products from virtually all developers. another company, Flight1, Carenado, etc. And all work and worked very well. But the products CS ... Relying on CS I lost all the work I had to make in my hangar a 732 and now I have an update that does not work. Well, since I applied all instructions passed by the company for the solution of problems and nothing worked, so I request the refund of the money that I paid for the purchase of this terrible product. I await a contact to resolve how the money will be refunded. >:( >:(

As I cant start a new post for some reason I thought I would post in here. I don't want my money back just a download that isn't infected.

I had similar problems using Charter's F-Secure antivirus software.  Not sure what caused it, but was able to tell F-Secure to download the software anyway, and it installed with no further problems.  Also had a similar issue with ACE for the 737 after installing V1.6, and they sent me just the ACE update and it works fine.  Very happy with the 737.

It's a false warning. There is no virus in the installer. Avast also warns that some Captain Sim (and other FSX payware products for that matter) are infected, so now I just add the location of ALL my FSX payware downloads to the "exclusions" list in Avast. Now I can install them without interference from Avast.

Ok, for some reason I cannot start a thread.

Does anyone have problems with the FD working with VOR/CRS?

I cannot get the Flight Director to work in VOR mode. The light always stays amber and it will not lock in. The autopilot will work fine and follow the VORs perfectly, but the flight director will not.

I have had it go green and work 1 or 2 times but I cannot reproduce what I did to get it to work.

Anyone else have these issues.

I have been flying the 737, and have not had a problem with using the VOR.  Just to check, I made a test flight last night, using the Captain Sim supplied 737 flight from RWY 34R at KSEA.  Made sure that the toggle switch was in the NAV position, not GPS.  Took off, climbed to about 3000 feet, and after about 10 NM turned right to heading 070, then after about 5 NM turned right again to heading 160.  Used the GPS to monitor position, and Direct To KSEA.  When about 20 NM away, turned to heading 250.  When the GPS showed I would need about  heading 340 to KSEA I turned right, used the SimIcons to select autopilot, VOR mode, and approach mode.  Made slight heading adjustments as needed.  Set VOR to 110.3, the ILS for RWY 34R.  The VOR and glide slope indicators, both yellow, turned green as I captured the ILS and glide slope.  Set the autobrake on, pressed Shift + /, and lowered the landing gear.  Adjusted flaps and airspeed, and proceeded to land with no problems.  Suggest you try the same flight from KSEA RWY 34R and see if you can duplicate this flight.

Re not being able to post new topic, you need to make 10 replies before being able to can do this.

I just did a test flight and you are right! The FD (for the VOR) isn't working correctly.

What the FD appears to be doing, is tracking the HEADING BUG, not the VOR radial. I could not get the FD VOR LOC to turn green, so I don't know how you did. :(

I just completed two more landings at KSEA.  For the first flight, after takeoff and climb to altitude, used the Sim Icon AP to select HDG mode and turned to 070, then to 160 as before.  Set 110.3 for DME-1 and 116.8 for DME-2.  About 20 NM from KSEA, turned to heading 250.  Then used heading mode to turn to approximately heading 340, switched to VOR approach mode with VOR set to 340.  At about 17 NM the glide slope turned from yellow to green - both the VOR and Glide Slope lights were green.  The aircraft turned as needed to the correct heading.  Did notice that the Center Panel VOR / LOC was correct, but on the left side of the panel the VOR / LOC was not selected.

Took off again, and after turning to 070 and 160 degrees using HDG mode, switched to VOR mode and intercepted the 160 radial outbound.  The aircraft followed HDG mode, set to 210, until the VOR radial was intercepted, when the VOR light turned green and the plane turned left to follow the 160 radial outbound.  About 25 NM from KSEA, near Carbonado on my Plan-G3 display, switched to HDG mode, turned to 250 degrees.  Near Airport 2WA4, turned right to about HDG 340, and when level switched DME-1 to 110.3, and selected VOR / APP mode.  Turned off ALT Hold mode, both lights turned green, and made a normal landing at KSEA 34R.  Conclude that I can track an outbound or inbound VOR radial, and the VOR light turns green when the VOR course is intercepted.  Sometimes overshoots the radial, but corrects itself and re-establishes itself on the right course.  Why Markoz and others are having problems getting the VOR and APP lights to turn from yellow to green is most puzzling.

If the VOR mode is selected from either the left or right side of the panel, the plane does not turn to follow the selected course, and the light stays orange.  However, if the VOR mode is selected by choosing AP from the SimIcon mode, SHFT-2, or by using SHFT-4, the aircraft will switch to VOR mode and turn to follow the selected radial, and the light will turn to green.  Just completed a flight to demonstrate this.  Since I always use the AP with SHFT-4 or with the AP Simicon, I had not realized it works this way.  The ALT HOLD feature works the same way.

Jim, are you talking about using the Autopilot or the flight director? Markoz and the others are talking about when they use the flight director not the autopilot.

Cheers,

Nathan  :)

Hi Jim. Like ftwd, my question is this:
Are you referring to the Autopilot in VOR/LOC tracking a radial (with the NAV/GPS Switch set to NAV)?
Or the Flight Director set to VOR/LOC and working correctly?

If it's the former, then that works perfectly for me too. I have no problems at all when tracking the VOR radial with the A/P.

However, if it's the latter you are referring to, then you seems to have it working correctly, while Cassen_ and I do not.

I found that turning the FD Switch to VOR, it tracks the heading/heading bug, and not the VOR radial.

You are right, Markoz.  I was not referring to the flight director.  I have not been using the flight director with the 737.

As an update, there are times when it works perfectly and other times when it does not. I can not recreate the conditions to make it work or not. It appears to be totally random. I have opened up a support ticket or two and still have got no response.

I like to do old radio based flights so a working FD is a must for me. I never use the GPS or its autopilot mode. Only VORs, radials, and NDBs for me ;)
