multiple magenta madness

Been planning a trip to Transylvania in honor of Halloween, and I run across this while checking the plan.

Multiple magenta route lines appear to criss cross over each other at random all along the route with no seeming connection to any waypoints.

I have manually rechecked each and every waypoint and found nothing wrong...no doubling back...no 'around the world legs'....

Even checked the same plan on the 767 with the same results.

The problem is probably in the plan which was generated in FSX except for the Departure which is from the FMC.

Not sure how to fix it however.

I'm just guessing since I saw other planes behaving like that too. If you already checked for the waypoint mishaps (you called them around the world legs), there's a chance that the (VECTORS) segment of departures and approaches causes some endless lines. This doesn't explain the multiple overlays though.  Undecided

They are often caused by waypoints in the STAR/TRANS that are enclosed in the square brackets - [] - because they do not "connect" with the next waypoint. Sad

Good point. You mean conditional waypoints like "at 3000", "intercept" or "track", right? Maybe something on the supplied data format has changed so the FMC can not interpret them correctly.

You could post the routes you are using and maybe the FMC (as screenshot) on the legs page, so that the folks can check which actual waypoint description triggers the issue. Maybe even attach the flight plan file.

Data is virtue.  Cheesy

+1 That would make it easier to figure out what might be happening. Wink

Well you guys are too smart for me....

The route is : DVR UL9 KONAN UL607 AMASI UM149 DETEV UL603 DINKU UQ305 BIBAG UL605 NEKUL UM747 BALBI

The flight plan is at https://www.mediafire.com/?7gxum9197kp5yko

I will be using one of the Heathrow Dover departures depending on winds and runways.

Most of the early waypoints are fine, but things start looking weird as  I step through them later on.

I will agree with Mark.  Happened to me around Ksea in the rockies.
My choice of STAR/TRANS created all this extra routes at the same time on the ND.  Out 100nm and back
I got worse around the airport, with the missed approach and the hold.
( and a bunch of new waypoints I had to follow manual to bring the plane to my runway of choice ) My plane followed the TRANS but not the STAR itself.

I just entered this route in the 757 FMC and it looks fine, I have no magenta lines going all over the place like in your image. Undecided

The route:

EGLL RWY27R DVR5F.DVR UL9 KONAN UL607 AMASI UM149 DETEV UL603 DINKU UQ305 BIBAG UL605 NEKUL UM747 ENIMA TOSV1E.TOSVI ILS08R LROP

You will notice that I did not go to BALBI, I only went to ENIMA. This was because of the Runway and STAR I selected to land on.

You can download my EGLLLROP757.rt here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yero50b8jqpmi1f/EGLLLROP757.rt?dl=0

Save it in the FSX\Captain_Sim\navigation\routes folder

Load it into the FMC by clicking on the LSK 3L (beside <SEND on the RTE page), find EGLLLROP757 and click on the LSK beside it.

Then see if you still have the crazy magenta lines on your display (mine doesn't). Wink

NOTE. I downloaded your EGLLLROP.PLN, but I couldn't load it into my 757 FMC, so I created the route in the FMC from scratch.

I think it may have been related to the STAR after all.  I probaly misplaced the transition waypoint or some other stupidity.

The flight went well overall

One thing I never mentioned in my previous post was that when I open your EGLLLROP.PLN in notepad, some of the route is missing. It shows a what appears to be a Direct To between DINKU and NEKUL, so airways UQ305 and UL605 and all their waypoints seem to be missing. But I can't understand why the CS757 FMC wouldn't load it. I will give it another try later on. Undecided
