A few issues.

Hi,

I really like the 707, in fact it is my currently most used aircraft in FSX.

However, there´s a few annoying things;

1) I know that these early jet engines were heavy smokers, hence the plenty of black smoke. However, once at FL 300 or there about, it should be White from the condensing moisture in the exhaust. However, it is still Black. Or am I missing something?

2) Once standing on the tarmac or taxiing, when I switch between external and internal views, the aircraft jumps up and Down, accompanied by the typical tyre "scream" sound.

I can live with it, annoying nonetheless.

BR,
Anders

1. Mine is like that too, but I think it also depends on how much throttle you use. When I'm cruising above FL300, with the throttles at 70% - 75%, there is a lot less black smoke mixed in with the contrails (sometimes it's almost completely white).

2. I'm having this problem in quite a few of my aircraft. It sometimes happens when taxiing too. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the terrain mesh I'm using (ORBX AU). It only started happening to me a while ago though. Sad

Hi Mark,
I´m sorry for  my late reply.. too much work these days.

Regarding the smoke; I normally cruise at Mach 0,8-0,83, being around 85-90% N2. If I throttle back till the smoke disappears which is below 75% N2, it slows down below Mach 0,65 and the pitch increases more than I like.. But no White smoke at all.

Regarding the jumping plane on the tarmac; Only the CS 707 does so, neither CS 737, default Cessna nor any other Aircraft behaves like that.

BR,
Anders

Going by the Cockpit ToolTip I set my throttles at 70% and the flight is usually around Mach 0.8 - 0.82 as well. I'm not sure what the N2 readings are though. The contrail seems to have the black smoke mixed in with it, but to a much lesser degree than say when the contrail first start and the throttles are further forward for climbing.

In cruise, if I have a powerful tailwind, I pull the throttles back further and with a headwind, I push the throttles forward further, obviously and the black smoke will sometimes disappear altogether after throttling back quite a bit. I'll have to do a flight and take some screenshots to show what I mean.
