Hi, Robinking,

A few suggestions:

1) Make sure your joystick is actually moving the control surfaces -- look from outside or check the flight controls page.  Sometimes the aircraft loads with switches that affect hydraulics to the controls set to "off."  These switches are located high up on the overhead panel.  They must be switched on.  Check that all the controls move: elevator, ailerons, rudder.

2) Check your elevator trim.  If it's below around 6 or so (depending on weight and weigh distribution) you may not have enough elevator effect, even with full back pressure on the joystick, to rotate the aircraft.

3) Looking at your screen shot, it looks like you may not have any flaps set.  You need at least flaps 5.

Hope this helps!

Mike

So the elevators are moving but the plane won't rotate?

What is your elevator trim setting?

In your screen shot it looks like there is no power applied to the elevators, as they are hanging down.

You need to check your overhead panel:

If you see orange lights in the upper left-hand corner, as in the above picture, you need to flip those switches on.

Also, check the controls by pressing the FCTL button over to the right of the autopilot.  This will display your flight controls on a main screen.  If they are not on, the screen will look like this:

After you have switched all of the switches on the overhead panel on, it will look like this (no orange lights):

I'm not sure if this will work, but try loading the default Cessna172 first.  This issue has been discussed elsewhere in the Captain Sim forums but I don't recall if there is some other solution.

It has worked for me every time if you load the default Cessna then switch to the 777.

My default flight is the C172, cold and dark (except for the Avionics Master Switch remaining ON). Whenever I load the 777, the Hydraulic switches are always ON.

The strange thing for me is that sometimes the Landing Gear Lever is UP, the Throttle Levers are pushed FULLY FORWARD and almost all of the switches on the Overhead Panel are OFF (but NEVER the Hydraulic switches Shocked). These things are easy to overcome because they are "in my face" without having to move my view very much at all. Smiley
