B737-200 Some Gauges not working

Hi,
Apologies if this has already been covered by you guys
I'm having a bit of trouble with the above:
ADI, VSI,HSI, fuel guages aren't working when starting as engines running (not C&D).
Just for fun I tried taking off by guesswork and the gauges start to work at about 200' or thereabouts. What am I doing wrong - I can't see anything in the manuals...??

Apart from that - Brilliant!

Thank guys
Kind Regards
John McHugh

I suggest reinstalling the 737-200 Base Pack. Run the installer as an administrator if using Vista/Win7/Win8. Select Repair when asked to Repair or Uninstall.
If that doesn't fix it, do a complete uninstall, remove the 737-200 entry from the registry, then reinstall (requiring you to reactivate the product). Full instructions on how to do this can be found by checking-in to Your Profile > Product > Customer Support > Search KB or Submit New Ticket and search for KB #685.

I had a similar problem after purchasing the 737 and after searching the forums for what seemed like hours, I found a solution that worked for me.

Make sure you turn on both engine generators located on the overhead panel, a little bit above the runway turnoff light switches.  They are labelled GEN 1 and GEN 2.  My landing lights, nav lights, and a number of key instruments do not work unless I flip both switches when I begin with my engines running.

I hope this helps.

Hi Twilly,

You de man! Solved - I feel a bit stupid about that, I assumed an engines running Aa/c would haveall  the electrics configured too.
Ah well we live and learn eh?

Hi John.

I mistook a simple problem for a bigger one. My bad.

It might be worth trying to follow the normal procedures in the ‘737 Captain’ FLIGHT MANUAL Part III –Normal Procedures manual (csx737_manual3.pdf).

Quote:
‘737 Captain’ FLIGHT MANUAL Part III –Normal Procedures (page 27)

BEFORE TAXI PROCEDURE

Fuel HEAT switches..............................................As needed F/O
Before takeoff with tank fuel temperature 0° C or below, set the fuel HEAT switches to ON for one cycle.
Fuel heat must be OFF for takeoff.
GENERATOR 1 and 2 switches........................................ON F/O
PITOT HEAT switches......................................................ON F/O
WING ANTI-ICE switch..........................................As needed F/O
ETC....
