The NavData for Captain Sim products can be found in [MSFSX Directory]\Captain_Sim\navigation. I've never taken a look at the files themselves for CS, but I have edited the files from another developer to add an airport that wasn't included. There's a specific format you have to follow to add information on each airport or waypoint that you insert.

The latest AIRAC cycle is always available on Navigraph for just a few dollars.

Mine are all DB (database) files and I open them with Notepad.

Like Mark said, they are in Database format (database files have the same icon as DLL files). Just select "Open With" and choose notepad. I'll take a look at the formatting used, since if it's anything like other addons, it won't be logically formatted at all.

The digits before the airport code, I don't know, but the after ones seem to be latitude and longitude (coordinates) of the airport.

e.g.

13;KJFK;40.639750;-73.778925 > 40.639750N; 73.778925W

Pinatubo.

My fleet (CS and from others developers):

L1011; B777-200/F; B777-200/F (LR); MD-11/F;B737-600/700/800/900NG; B767-300/200/F/KC ; B757-300/200/F ; C130 X-perience All-In-One; B707-300/300C; B727-100/200; B737-200/200ADV; WX Radar

airports.db : 126;KLAX;33.942495;-118.408070 : unsure (126);Airport name (KLAX);latitude;longitude

airways.db - A1;1;48.407000;3.294778;12;BRY - airway name (A1):unsure;latitude;longitude;unsure;waypoint name (one waypoint which is part of the airway (BRY))

fixes.db - EKSOM;43.931667;78.656667;3 - Name of the fix (EKSOM);latitude;longitude;unsure (3)

iaps.db - I think these are the RNAV/VOR/NDB approaches and there are to many things to try to figure out. Each line seems a waypoint with the approach. It must also contain information pertaining to any constaints at those waypoints. This is the first one in the file:

sids.db - these are SID's and again there are to many things to try to figure it all out. I assume it contains information pertaining to waypoints within the SID, starting at the runway all the way to the last waypoint in the SID. This is the first one in the file:

stars.db - these are STAR's and there are to many things to try to figure it all out. I assume it contains information pertaining to waypoints within the STAR, starting at the first waypoint all the way to the runway. This is the first one in the file:

That number before the airport (126) for KLAX is the elevation. Not sure about the unknown number for the airways and waypoints.

And for the runways, the first (00CA) is the airport code, the second is (my guess) the ILS Frequency, and the third (again a guess) the ILS heading.
