Newbie Cold & Dark question

Hi

I am new to Flight Simulations and may have jumped too deep buying this superb aircraft.

Is there a tutorial any place on how to get this baby going?
Can that set-up then be saved?

Don't some add-on aircraft (maybe not Captain Sim) come with an 'already running' option?

The only tutorial is the one in this forum: 757-200 FMC Tutorial

There are also two flights to choose from: 757-200 Cold-n-Dark (KSEA) and 757-200 Cleared for takeoff (KSEA)

That Tutorial has all the images missing.

You say "two flights" how do I select the flights, please?

OK
I found the flights.
Is there any way to make a new flight at a different location with the 'Cleared for takeoff' settings, please?

You can move the aircraft to any airport you want, preferably one with long enough runways and ILS/GS facilities. However,I would at least try to follow a tutorial at least once to familiarize yourself with initializing the aircraft for position (IRS) alignment, and entry of FMS data. Its too bad that KSEA is the default airport for FSX,since it has possibly the worst frame rates, but thats the way it is .Ask more questions or check FAQ's for further help. Its a learning curve for everyone.Good luck

They were there last time I looked (which was a long time ago).

The biggest problem with that tutorial, was that it was done using an earlier version of the CS 757 and therefore an earlier AIRAC was used as well, so there were differences even when I first did it back in 2009.

Mind you, that can apply to any tutorial for these more advanced aircraft that use an FMC.

You can move the location of your default flight by simply starting fsx with the default Trike, select your new default starting location, select the correct time of day at that location, then start a flight. When the sim have loaded you click File->Save->Check "Save as default flight"

The location you chose will now be your new default flight location. Personally I have set my local airport as my default location, a sideeffect of doing this is that the time of day will always be my local time whenever I start up FSX

I just start with the default C172, cold and dark, set at my "default" airport (YMML). I just load the CS 757 and it is in a cold and dark situation too, and I'm okay to do a flight from there whenever I want. So when I start FSX, I can change airplane, airport, time and date and weather before pressing FLY NOW. This works perfectly fine for all the Captain Sim aircraft (except the Space Shuttle Shocked).
