Ahh the good old stripes livery! looking superb even with the "noticable issues"

So I take it you're doing this and the "last" plain white livery?

You my friend are just too good for me! Are you doing full Palmair or the Palmair European Livery?  That was a great alliance they had there for a while!

Well it's the same as my posting, but without the added European titles, that said I would prefer the European titles on there for 'Palmair European'

Exciting times for the B732!

Great work Eric,
Looking forward to having some EAL liveries from the days before the change to OZjet.
Any chance you would be able to tackle this version of EAL.

There is a Payware Bournemouth airport but its part of the UK2000 vfr airfields vol 1 but it is quite dated as it was released in 2008 but they did add the parking spot for the 747SP that fly's in a lot

http://www.uk2000scenery.com/vfrairfields/My_Homepage_Files/Page2.html

I tend to use EGHH as my base in Airhauler, i also live close to the airport Smiley

Absolutely! I do love UK2000. It's a bit of a shame to have to wait a year! Ha!  I also look forward to Luton! As Eiresims is...well okay but has many flaws.

Haha yeah that's true. At least with the 742s there were only 5 colours! So how's the Palmair European repaint looking? I bet it looks superb! The EAAC is all thy I fly atm. Especially with the FDE mod.

I tried the Eiresim version of Luton, but unfortunately it had several problems. The biggest one was the poor match between the base photo image and the Horizon VFR GenX photoscenery....and that is totally unacceptable to me. The blend needs to be virtually seamless, and Gary's airports tick this particular box every time. I also noticed misaligned runway centreline lights, which is also not acceptable to me. The runway is the one piece of airport real estate that you will ALWAYS see when you visit, and as such the various lines, lights and markings need to be aligned properly.

By the way, I am a beta tester for UK2000, so I will make sure that the same thing does not occur with Luton Xtreme  Wink

Yes! I've encountered all of those and now I avoid LTN like te plague :/ shame as I love Luton. Although from working there and the issues of the airport. It is the worst airport in Europe! Haha.

Looks really good Eric. looking forward to more of your great liveries.

Am trying to find some pics for the wording under the windows but this is the best I can find so far.

I cant quite make it out either but will try and search the net for you.

Hi Eric,
I found some info on the net that might help.
Here's some stuff from
http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-72008.html

"Palmair are now using 2 B737-200's from EAL and my 'contacts' tell me that the low cost services are still going ahead but the destinations are obviously changing. Palmair will carry around 140,000 PAX through BOH this year and they have increased capacity for summer 2003 by 20%. This coupled with any low cost service just goes to show what a healthy, small company they are. The future looks very good for them. They weren't voted Britains best airline and the worlds third best in 2001 (Which magazine) for nothing!"

I think it says "Which...something 2003" in referance to the magazine.

Will try to keep looking for more info or a copy of that magazine article.

Another reference
http://centreforaviation.com/analysis/palmair-one-time-world-best-airline-and-th...

I'm confused by your last post. I was of the understanding that palmair was no more. Thanks to Ryanair. And the only aircraft they had which was leased from Astraeus, went bust.

Are they coming back for 2013?

No ,I was just trying to help find some info for Eric.

These are old articles that were part of the story that I hoped would  help figure out the wording logo Palmair had under the windows on
G-CEAC

Luckily I'm used to 'If I Sounds too good to be true, it usually is!' haha!

And I think it's which isn't it? The writing on the fuselage?

I think your right james, although its seems weird to me to have a magazine named the "which magazine". Read that in the forum that Speedbird posted and it threw me off a couple of times( i thought they were asking a question as to WHICH magazine was it posted in Grin Embarrassed )

Well they included 20kgs luggage. In flight meals and the extras in the cost of the airfare. Now all those are optional extras. Also when Mr Bath was alive. He saw each flight off personally.

And half the reason they arnt around. Is the aircraft they leased, European and Astraeus went bust :/

That right there is Pan Am level service! Boy what i wouldnt give for one flight on a 707 727 or 737 of that era! unfortunately i was born in 1986 (start of the Classics) and mostly flew on the -300's-400's and -500s along with some of Alaska and Southwest airlines NG's.

Glad I could provide some info for an interesting chat on the forum.

I have to agree that ” Which” is a strange name for a magazine but it was interesting to see such a small airline got such positive attention.

Luckily for me my interest in aviation started at an early age and that my first ever airplane ride was on my 16th birthday (1979) aboard a Pacific Western 737-200. Over the years I’ve had lots of flights on Pacific Western 737’s and right up to the late 90’s on board Westjet 737-200s.
Back in those days in Canada it was easy to get flightdeck visits during flight. I was lucky enough to have many jumpseat rides aboard Air Canada DC9-32’s including a few landings and a gate to gate flight in the cockpit.

I love the old birds and have a huge collection of old memorabilia from those extinct airlines and aircraft. Even had two flights to KSFO aboard CPAir DC8-43’s back in 1978.
If I had only known how rare those old birds would become I would have taken way more pictures.

AH the good old days of aviation. Tongue Tongue
I really miss them too.  Sad

i always had a love for flying, it was always my favorite thing when vacations came around. the "sucked into your seat feeling" when they advance the throttle, the growl and whine from the engines that seems to make babies cry and annoy people, But i never really got "into" it until my Flight on a wide body when i went to the UK for a shooting competition at the Bisley firing range, then the switch clicked and i found my other hobby when i retired from shooting. As for rare birds, i guess its like old cars, back then they were a dime a dozen now all but extinct rotting in a barn or out in a field.

Thankfully there are some talented people like yourself to tackle a few liveries for the hobby.
Wish I had the software and talent to give it a try, there are a few classic Canadian, US and UK liveries I’d love to see come to life in FSX.

I have lots of pictures from within the Canadian/Air Canada hanger at CYVR for 737-200's that hopefully one day will join my FSX fleet.  Tongue  Tongue

Looking forward to your work Eric.

I’ve been to Spokane a few times back in my younger days. Love Washington State, It’s like the British Columbia of the United States.

Out of all the classic
Aircraft I have flown. To this day the No.1 spot goes to the BAC 1-11.

A challenging, yet rewarding plane to fly. Again thanks to European Air Charter.

Thank god they've still got the sim! Grin

Did you ever get a chance to fly the old classic 747-236B's.
We had them come into CYVR a few times back in 2002.

BA was flying them here all the time till retirement and it was nice to see G-BDXH back in the EAL livery.
I assume all the 747-236's had the FMS that BA retrofitted into them when you guys had them.

What happened to those beautiful old birds? hope they all didnt get scrapped. Sad

I got to fly on them and... I still do! Well in the sim! MCC and experience days.

And HX was my favourite in blue! Im lucky to have all 5 in 1:200 scale in a glass display cabinet with a few bits of uniform etc.

Sorry to say that all 742s were scrapped except XH!

She was kept
And is still complete at Dunsfold EGYD. Modified for the James Bond fil
casino Royale. To this day is complete but not airworthy. Look on google you'll see why!

So if you ever watch the tv show top gear. Which is filmed at Dunsfold. You'll see her!

Thank you for the kind words! Im really just an total newb when it comes to this, there are many better than I. ive been to canada once up to cranbrook and Nelson, Nelson was great cause the prestige hotel we stayed at was right at the end of the Nelson airport! If you have some photos of the aircraft you want id be glad to give em a shot if they havent been done already. My first paint i ever did was the Seattle Seahawks "Seahawks 1" livery for the CS 727-200, which is uploaded to the free liveries.

I LOVE Top Gear! Such a funny show and awesome super cars. i have the Game Forza Motorsports 4 and they have the TG test track there with the 742 modeled in the scenery! would be neat to see pictures of your uniform! Looks like we have two ATP's to tell stories to us!

The ICAO code for Dunsfold is EGTD.
EGYD is RAF Cranwell.

hello, I've got the repaint and eternally grateful! although there are two issues, firstly all of the union jacks are missing the red lines on the diagonal lines. and secondly the PALM on the left is a different colour to the AIR, however the right side is fine.

James

Could you Point out the "Union Jacks"? and on the PALM, i was wondering if it was different or if it was my monitor, i triple quadruple checked both sides making sure i chose the correct color but ill look again.

I have informed Tanya of this problem. Hopefully it will be looked into soon.

In the mean time, if you have an ImagShack, Photobucket or something similar, account, upload it to there and add the image to post using the
Code
Select All

method.
This is how it would look in the post:

Eric, in your last picture post you can see the errors/ mishaps that I'm seeing.

I'm still unable to upload any pics so we'll have to go with your last post, are you able to edit/amend the repaint?
