767 TSS sound
Jul 24th, 2012 at 2:37pm
Print Post
Hi guys.

Just fired up the 767 after a layoff and when I reinstalled it I also install the TSS soundpack.
Most sounds are ok but I seem to be missing some of the cockpit sounds such as switches, stewardess callouts and probably some others that I haven't found yet. Actually apu sounds are another that currently aren't working so there's quite a few missing. It's almost as though all TSS sounds are working and none of the CS sounds are.
Can someone who knows the file structures take a look at my sound file for me?

Thanks.

i also use the TSS Sounds and i dont think they come with cabin sounds.  you may have to look through the file for cabin sounds and if theyre missing add them from the original CS folder to the tss one, then taking the corresponding sections from the cs sound.cfg and pasting them in the tss sound.cfg.

The sounds that you are referring to Cappy, are in the FSX\Captain_Sim\767\sounds folder.
Make sure that the Captain_Sim.b767.sound.GAU and cs.sound.dll gauges have been accepted as a Trusted in the fsx.cfg. It will look something like this:

J:\Flight Simulator X\Captain_Sim\767\cs.sound.dll.nqienoeouinoabhqqwhanqekwlwatteninbzwazc=1
J:\Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\Captain_Sim.b767.sound.GAU.nzuqwuwucnrzrccwlhutcuihawttincehuawkncr=2

Aren't those sounds there already Mark?

Sorry I'm having a mental block, I've forgotten the file structures' ins and outs.  Cry

Yes. The sounds are installed with the 767 and are not overwritten or replaced by the TSS Sounds. But if you don't accept tyhe gauge as trusted, then you can't hear them. BUT. If you don't accept them, in my FSX it always asks for me to accept them as trusted. The cs.sound.dll comes up during FSX starting and the Captain_Sim.b767.sound.GAU when selecting the 767, so they should already be accepted.

Maybe you need to do a reinstall (repair option) to see if that fixes the issue.

When you say "trusted" and "accepting" I'm assuming you mean the first time you use the aircraft when you have to ok certain gauges etc?
If so then I have definitely done that.
I think the problem might have occured when I copied my TSS file over in the first place, it was a bit of suck and see when I did it due to TSS being FS9.
How did you intall your TSS sounds? I might start again with it.

Trusted and accepting are the same thing. Sorry if I confused you.

Anyway, this is how I did it:

1) Rename the sound.GE, sound.PW and sound.RR folders.
2) Copy TSS sound.GE, sound.PW and sound.RR folders into the CS_B767-300 folder.

I never needed to edit the aircraft.cfg because they were pointing to the correct folders. I can still hear the clicks of the knobs and the Captain and Stewardess announcements.
