Hi!
I just installed v1.0 and wanted to gibe it a try.
But as soon as I want to enter some data into the PDCS, FSX crashes to desktop...
Any ideas on that?
Greets,
Michael

The first time I used the PDCS, I got a CTD. It has only done it once more since then.

My second CTD was caused when I rapidly clicked on a button several times because it didn't appear to have done anything on the first click (it wasn't instantaneous).

So. When working with the PDCS, give it time to allow each button press to be received/processed.

Same as Mark. I had one occasion where I was operating the PDCS and the sim crashed at a key press. After that, no problems came up in regard to CTDs on any other flight so far.

Bad news. I just had another one. I'm going to take a note of what/when it happens, IF it happens again, so I can detail the reason.

Do you guys get a Windows Event Log entry? I've just scrolled through mine and couldn't find one from that CTD, which is strange. Would have helped if one dll or something would show up.

Some particular conditions that cause the CTD please?

I've just installed v1.0 as instructed including doing a regedit. I've had three consecutive CTD when inputting data into the PDCS.
From C&D, selected battery, selected EP from Simicon and turned Grd Pwr on on the overhead panel. Selected Grd Pwr on AC and Battery on DC. Galley pwr on, Position, anti coll and wing lights on.
Started to enter PDCS data. for FSX FP EGKK - EDLV
Flt mode selector > Stby > LOAD Page 1-2 > OAT 8C > OAT F auto enter 46 > D ELV 106 > RSV+ALT ??? left blank > Page 2-2 ZFW 86800 > INDEX 80 > by default BELOW FL100, Min IAS 250kt > X > GO FL290 > Dist 260nm (GO FL auto changed to 370 and time to 44) > Time 32 ............. press enter and immediate crash to FSX encountered error close program.
This could be my error but I didn't have crashes when entering data before v1.0.
I didn't reboot between the crashes.

What do I look for in the Event Log Entries?

Ian

I just had a lock-up as well. Seemed to occur when I pressed the "Page ->" button.

Does you Windows Event Log show anything after that crash? Mine was empty (in regard to FSX), but I'd like to contribute more detail for the devs.  Undecided

I managed to get through entering everything I wanted to enter into the PDCS, without getting a CTD. I chose Econ all the way through and did not try other pages that would take me to things like Reduced takeoff page.

I have had crashes when I try to fill in everything! Never succeeded to do so.
Three times I have had a CTD when I first pressed a key on the PDCS (once in v0.8, once in v0.9 and the final on in v1.0) ALL of them happened the very first time I tried to enter data in them after I had installed the 737 vX.X.

I think that, as long as there is no official P3D version, any P3D related crash reports only add a ton of confusion here. Means for the devs and the readers. No offence, but P3D isn't supported so far. But I'm guessing the OP was reporting a FSX problem.

yeah he is reporting an fsx problem but any log is a good place to start as im sure CS would look into it if he thought ( removed dll name ) was part of the problem, With no logs from fsx it will make it very very hard to track down but with a P3D log its a start.. not the best of them mind you and it might not even be helpful to CS.

+1

I think we need to stick to FSX. Wink
