Since there seems to be no way to ask support until after you buy the product I will ask here.

Does the new 737 install and work properly in Prepar3d?

Is P3D officially supported?

It does not install to P3D and there is no support under that platform, i do hope with time that captain sim decides to support P3D Smiley

Yes the CS737 does work under Prepar3D. But one needs to know and understand how to manually transfer and work with both FSX and Prepar3D's configs. You the user are at risk with no support unless CS changes policy. Sorry I cant assist unless CS gives me a green go light.

Perhaps you can direct me to a page or Two that deal with the subject in general, but not specific to Capt. Sim.

I have done rips but never had to bother with config files to get them working but they were free files not Payware.

737-200 in P3D?

hello,

I hope I can put my question regarding P3D: the 737 is the only plane of the CS-series, which doesn't work in P3D. The gauges remain black. All others, like the 767 etc. work perfectly. Is there a short and quick workaround for this?

best regards Kai

Thanks Tanya.

This makes discussing it in the forums a lot easier. Grin

It works okay in P3D. I'm not good at configuring them to work perfectly (or near perfectly), yet, I lose some (interior) sounds, the rest works fine. A big plus for the 737 in P3D that I have found is that if I go into the menu (i.e. Fuel and Payload) and return to FSX I don't get all the switches turning off like has been reported in this forum. Admittedly, in FSX it only does it the first time you go to the menu to change something, but it is annoying.

Even I need a little. I'm finding it hard, in the P3D forums, to find the info I need so I get it sorted out! I'm not used to their forum yet. Sad

I installed the 737 like the others Boeing's from CS I bought. But here in the 737 the gauges are only black. Is something different here comparing to the others? Perhaps a .dll-file or similar which have to be concerned?

best regards Kai

If this helps Markoz, i have brought some made/converted for P3D aircraft and they are missing some sounds that are in fsx so it seems to be something that is more down to P3D than anything else from my point of view, so you are not alone with that one but as long as you remember to put the correct entry in the dll.xml you should have almost every sound. There has been reports that P3D does not deal with stall sounds correctly as well, well not the same as fsx anyway so when doing a slow landing make sure you keep an eye on the speed or things could get out of hand real quick.

on another note are we allowed to share how to install cs products now as im still not to clear on that one, but it does not matter to much as i dont really like sharing things like that as i dont want to risk getting in to trouble.

I was planing to move the files from the [Prepar3d]\Captain_Sim\737 to the [Prepar3d]\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200\sound folder to see if it helped. I never thought about the dll.xml entries! LOL

I have transferred my entire CS fleet to P3D.

The 2 biggest issues were gauges & dll references.

I used the panel.cfg file to make sure gauges were put in the proper P3D gauge folder and correcting the dll.xml file to reference CS dll files.

Don't forget the effects files also.

Works good for me.

Seems that is all that is necessary is allow the installer to use the P3D as a root for direct installation.

I have a few other items to address, not CS related. When I accomplish those I will be shutting down FSX and use P3D exclusively.
