It really looks like Weapon for FSX has not installed properly.

Is FSX installed in the default location (C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86))? If it is, it will mean that the Weapon for FSX Loader is installed there too. Windows 7 only allows them a limited amount of authority when installed in Program Files/Program Files (x86). So...

Weapon for FSX (csw001_1000.exe) MUST be installed using the "Run as administrator" option!
The Loader MUST be run using "Run as an administrator" or it is NOT able to make the changes to the aircraft.
It might not be working properly because FSX is not being run using the "Run as an administrator" option.

There is also a possibility that the installer might be faulty. Check-in to Your Profile > Product > Extended Download Service > Get New Links and download the csw001_1000.exe again and reinstall with the newly downloaded installer, use the "Repair" option. See if that help.

Maybe you activation didn't work correctly.

Have you tried doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of Weapon for FSX, as per KB #685, which includes the removal of the Weapon for FSX entry in the windows registry? If you do that, then you will have to reactivate the product, but hopefully it will get right and then everything will work as is should.

I can use the loader but nothing else work.

Weapon Control Panel shows but Round counter shows 0000 for all weapons.

The HUD in all aircrafts is totally empty. There is nothing. Just plain "glass" and of course the weapons don't work (dont even show up).

I have now installed the program for three times acording to the advise shown here. Nothing changes.

System: 1,5 year old normal PC with 4 GB DRAM and Windows 7 64bit FIN. I use Fsx.exe.limiter, REX and have about 100 GB other addons (freeware and shareware). Everything else works ok.

Installing Weapon for FSX as an administrator is a must for Vista/Win7!
Running the Loader as an administrator is equally important.
If FSX is installed in the default location of C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86), then it too could need to be run as an administrator.

For the csw001_1000.exe to be run as an administrator, right mouse click on it, select Run as administrator from the list that pops up.
For the Loader, click on Start > All Programs > Captain Sim > Weapon for FSX and then right mouse click on Loader (shortcut). Select Properties, then the Compatibility tab, tick the box beside Run this program as an administrator then click OK. Now the loader will always be run as an administrator!
Do the same for fsx.exe in the FSX root folder so that it is always run as an administrator.

I have been using MS FSs since 2005. First FS9 and now for about 2 years FSX. Already with FS9 I found out that as Administrator things come easier. So I have made a special user with Administrator priviledgies to run FSX and install it's addons. UAC is also turned off from my computer. So far there haven't been any problems ... now is with this WfFSX.

I have also installed the FSX onto another HDdrive (D) to avoid further problems the Windows 7 might cause while installing in the defauld folder (although turning UAC off should handle that).

First I read all what was written here about the subject and then tried to reinstall the WfFSX with the tricks mentioned here (among others to right click myself as admin though I already was one) three times. No help.

I have left a very precise discription of the problem to the CS support. Let's see if they'll find something out of it.

I am having the same problem. Weapons will not work. I have tried re-installing, running and installing as administrator. I am using SP2.
The amo counter is alway set to zero.
I have tried getting help from the so called support team, but they just reject any support ticket request I make.
I may be asking for my money BACK SOON.

When the ammo counter is displaying all zeros, it mean that the csweapon.xml has a scripting error. Or might even be missing. It may not have been placed in the aircraft's folder during the adding it to the aircraft in question because of the lack of administrative rights. Have you tried running the LOADER as an administrator when adding to aircraft?

If FSX is installed in the default location (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X) and you are using Vista or Win7, you might also need to run FSX (fsx.exe file) as an administrator every time you use FSX. It is highly recommended NOT to install FSX in the default location on Vista or Win7.

Hello
I have installed weapons for FSX. Installation worked fine. the F18 is armed and ready but when i choose any other aircraft the weapons panel comes up but the Round counter shows 0000 for all weapons. when i hit the fire button nothing happends.
Can you explain on what needs to be done in order for the weapon counter to work. I have not done anythin with the SDK. All i have done is install the program. Please advice on what else i need to do after installing this software? Thanks

You might need to run the LOADER as an administrator (right mouse click the Loader and select "Run as administrator" from the list). If you are using Vista or Win7, you must do that when adding CS Weapons to other aircraft or else it probably won't work.

Vista and Win7 are very strict when it comes to making changes. If FSX is installed in the default location (as shown in my previous reply), you are bound to have problems with Weapon for FSX with FSX because the OS is very protective of everything installed in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86). You might even need to run FSX as an administrator too.

Do i need uninstall the loader or just go to start find the loader and right click on it?. Now that everything is install the loader is only use if you wnat to arm and disarm an aircraft. Do you think that after doiwn tuis when i selct a diff aircraft that the weapon round counter will not be zero 0000...
What i need to know is what i need to do so when i select any other plane (not the F18) the ammo counter WONT be 0000

Right mouse click on the shortcut to the loader.
Click on START > All Programs > Captain Sim > Weapon for FSX > Loader (see attached image).

You haven't said whether you are or are not using Vista or Win7, so this is what you need to do to ADD Weapons to other aircraft.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mark,
yes, i'm using windows 7 (x64)
Thanks for the attachment, once i run it as administartion then it will bring me to the box where i selct the aircraft with the choice to remove and install the weapons . As i stated before my only problem is that when im in FSX and select any aircraft the weapons panels comes on but the ammo metter is always 0000. If i select the F-18 then everything works fine.... Right now im at work, but when i get home i will try what ou said, I hope that after doin this i can select any aircraft and it would no longer be 0000
