How to start the engines of the FSX C-130?.

First let me say sorry because I do not speak English properly.I  know this question has been answered several times but I have no choice but to insist.

I have read many times all the solutions on how to start the engines of C130. Also I've seen several videos on youtube. Despite this and always following the same steps I get it sometimes but not others.

For this, I ask:
1 .- To start in cold and dark, you can tell me all the steps you follow to turn off  the cessna (avionics, batteries, alternators, magnetos, mixture)?.
2 .- Can anyone give me step by step, the method to be followed (with  battery or with external power) to turn on the engines?.

Thanks for reading my request.

If anyone can send me a detailed personal manual, my email is amembrives@ono.com

If ahs5802 had done a search of the forum using the words "engine start", he would found this:

Markoz wrote on Mar 13th, 2011 at 6:45am:
Here is how I start the C-130 (without using External Power/Air)

Battery - TO ISOLATED DC BUS
Co-Pilots AC Instruments - ISOLATED DC BUS
AC INST & FVM CONT - ESSENTIAL AC BUS
GTC Door Switch - OPEN
GTC Main Switch - START (returns to the RUN position when released)
Wait for the GREEN light - then
Bleed Air Valve Switch - OPEN
ATM Control Switch - ON
ATM Generator Switch - RESET then move to ATM GENERATORS
Engine Bleed Air Valves #1, #2, #3 & #4 - OPEN
Engine #3 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #3 - *PRESS and release.
After engine #3 starts
Generator Selector Switch #3 - OPEN/ON
Engine #4 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #4 - *PRESS and release
After engine #4 starts
Generator Selector Switch #4 - OPEN/ON
ATM Generator Switch - OFF
Bleed Air Valve Switch - CLOSED
GTC Main Switch - OFF
GTC Door Switch - CLOSED
Engine #1 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #1 - *PRESS and release
After engine #1 starts
Generator Selector Switch #1 - OPEN/ON
Engine #2 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #2 - *PRESS and release
After engine #2 starts
Generator Selector Switch #2 - OPEN/ON

*Sometimes the button sticks and won't come out, click it to release it. Sometimes I leave it for a few seconds, sometimes I click on it immediately (both seem to work). Sometimes I click the button really quickly ("tap it" and the Engine Start panel shows very briefly) and that's enough to initiate the engine start.

The C-130 is hard to start and sometimes I find I need to move the Engine Condition Lever to AIR START again. The method above works for me every time. This may not be the proper way to start them, but this method does get them started, which is the main point of this reply.

Mark

Sorry, but it was easier to quote myself than to retype all that. Wink

Thank to ottoramsaig and Markoz but the problem persists. I tried to start the engines with and without battery, according to various published checklists, including the official manual, following several videos from youtube. It is useless. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Sometimes I can start four engines, three, sometimes none. I'm desperate and disillusioned. Any suggestions on settings for win7, FSX or FSUIPC can solve the problem?.

Thank you very much everyone.

Try the following way using the 2D OH Panel 1 (Upper) and 2D Throttle Quadrant Panel only.

Battery - TO ISOLATED DC BUS
SimIcon Panel (SHIFT+2) - Press E to give you External Power
EXT AC PWR - ON
Co-Pilots AC Instruments - ESSENTIAL AC BUS
AC INST & FVM CONT - ESSENTIAL AC BUS
Engine Bleed Air Valves #1, #2, #3 & #4 - OPEN
Engine #3 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #3 - *PRESS and release.
After engine #3 starts
Generator Selector Switch #3 - OPEN/ON
Engine #4 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #4 - *PRESS and release
After engine #4 starts
Generator Selector Switch #4 - OPEN/ON
Engine #1 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #1 - *PRESS and release
After engine #1 starts
Generator Selector Switch #1 - OPEN/ON
Engine #2 Condition Lever - AIR START (returns to RUN position when released)
Engine Ground Start Button #2 - *PRESS and release
After engine #2 starts
Generator Selector Switch #2 - OPEN/ON

See if that gets them started.

Thanks again for your quick solution. Unfortunately the problem continues. In addition, I'm surprised you did not include in your new listing the ignition of the GTC and / or ATM.
The only way I can start the engines is by pressing Ctrl + E.
Well, I'll keep looking for answers.

Merry Christmas

I did not include them because it is how to start the engines using External Power, not the GTC and/or ATM. I must have deleted the line at the top of my reply where I had written to try and start it using external power. Sorry about that.

Well, it seems to work. What was the problem?.
I started the simulator by loading the default Cessna. Then followed with MIXTURE = OFF, AVIONICS = OFF, MASTER ALT / BAT = OFF AND MAGNETOS = OFF. Then loaded the C-130 that, in theory, should appear in a state of "cold and dark." Then followed the sequence CABIN - VIRTUAL CABIN and EXTERIOR VIEW. All this I did not invent. I read this in multiple answers of this forum as well as several videos.
Well, this is useless.

WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Just on the home screen select the C130. I give a "fly now" and then turn off the engines and put all the switches to OFF. I save flying as "C-130 cold and dark" and from that moment on, every time I want to use the C-130 select this flight and EVERYTHING WORKS!!

Merry Christmas
and happy new year
