727 mods and tweaks

Afternoon All,

I have been reading in other forums that there are available several modifications that can enhance the already excellent 727. Am i right in thinking this?

In particular im sure i have read a reference to improved flight dynamics??

Well anyway it was suggested that the CS forum was the place to start, ive had a scout round and cant find anything.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Good point CoolP.

I should have included them because of the help they can provide.

No problem, Mark. Here's the collection then. Should we add some more links? Please comment!

Mods, can you make this thread sticky? It should list all current 727 mods and tweaks, so it helps new users.

Edited:

Please post questions and praises in the corresponding threads to keep this one short and useful for new users. Smiley

Civa INS integration.
Get the INS mod if you like that cryptic gauge and want to advance from the VOR to VOR usage or the too simple GPS ways.

Read and post here. http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1286031420
That thread also has a reference to the initial mod by Cthulhus, so there are two variants available.

Sound fix (with the 707 gauge).
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1264321545/84#84

Sound and avionics fix with the config tweaks, so no 707 gauge needed.
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1264321545/52#52
and
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1315183931/1#1

The sound fix (which isn't a fix per se, more of a workaround) can happen in two ways. The first one uses the 707 sound gauge, the second one adds things to the default 727 config files. Both things work around the missing cockpit sounds on the first initialization of the plane.

AP tuning with some NAV/GPS button.
The extra NAV/GPS button on the AP is for the folks looking for a way to use the default FSX GPS with the AP.
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1307839945/10#10

Package with some gauge mods by Matt Smith. Download link has to be added. Besides, please check if they are still needed in 2.4. Details are in this thread.
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1261409734/0

DME gauge switching, like on the 707.
It's neat when you want to have DME1 und 2 together.
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1287210019/56#56

Pressurization fix (beta) by Dutch.
If you are spoiled by the wonky default system in the 727.
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1316963585/4#4

Flight model mod by Michael2 for -200 and -100
I tip if you want to fly the numbers and use the free docs coming with the mod or being available at Avsim.
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1296889437
Note. The -100 mod is somewhere inside the thread for the -200 thingy, so please read.

V-One Takeoff and Landing Gauge with Sounds by fsxpaul
This one is for the -100.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

Now all we need is for Tanya to make it a sticky topic. Wink

Does the tweaks improve the power of the engines? I ran out of space at EGTE Sad

I also needed 3/4 throttle to taxi. Roll Eyes

Roll Eyes 3/4 throttle normally means if you did not change your config file:
a.  You are dragging your rear stair door and the APU cart behind you
b.  You added an extra 0 in your weight total somehow.
c.  The parking brake is on.
d.  Finally, my favorite, if you find that you are having to add way too much power just to taxi - See if your landing gear is up!

Seriously, barring any of the above I cannot think of any reason for your power to have to be so high to taxi.

Hey Mark,
I've posted this in another thread regarding the mods for the CS727s that you posted back in 2011 but I haven't heard anything from a support team, so I'm going to try it here.

I have the CS727-200 mods but I was not able to get the mods for the CS727-100. The file is missing or has been taken down. This was posted back in 2011 and the mods for the 727-200 is still available. But the mods for the 727-100 is not available. Why is it not available? I've searched everywhere and cannot find it. You posted this thread and said that both files are available. Will you please post a new link for the CS727-100 mods or post the zip file here.

Another problem is that why is it that every time I post questions here that I never get any support? It makes me wonder if my posts are just being ignored and I'm not getting any help or support. This is where I'm suppose to come to get support.

Unfortunately... A few years ago, I had a PSU go rogue on me and it wiped out all the HDD's on my computer. It also wiped out my backup drive when I tried restoring everything on new HDD's that also ended up wiped out (I hadn't found out that it was the PSU that was faulty at the time, so I thought I had fixed the problem by replacing the M/B). I ended up losing a all of these files when that happened, so I no longer have any of them. So if you can't find them anywhere else, then I can't help you either. Sorry about that. Sad

I sure wish you was able to save it. When I be doing a landing approach and flying at Vref+5, the attitude of the 727-100 is way too high, and that is not realistic. The attitude is anywhere between 4 to 5 degrees. It was doing the same thing on the 727-200 but the mods fixed that problem. That's why I want the mods for the 727-100. Is it possible that your co-workers may have the zip file? If not, I hope someone out there will post the zip file here. Since both zip files were uploaded onto MediaFire, why is it that the CS727-100 zip file is missing? When I click on the link for the CS727-200 zip file, it's there and I can download it. But when I click on the link for the CS727-100 zip file, it says that the file is missing or has been taken down. That's what I don't understand, and I'm sure you put them up at the same time.

You're not going to believe this. I found them! I had them backed up on a DVD-RW of Captain Sim stuff. Unfortunately, I'm still missing more than I have found. Sad

Click on the E-mail box at the bottom of my post, and I'll send you the file you want:

727 100 flight model mod 1.1.zip
