Okay, I've had my fun being a spambot.

But anyways, I just want to place my emphasis on a Captain Sim BAC One-Eleven, a very cool british jet:

or the Vickers VC-10:

^yes, thats four rear-mounted engines

These are all cool planes, the Brits made some neat stuff.

Those would be cool to have. I think Illyushin uses a jet with four rear-mounted engines. Do you know if it's a replica of the Vickers?

They were both announced in 1960.

Think this was first class?!

and economy..

Toilets!

David Maltby makes some rather nice VC10s and BAC1-11s amongst others, you should check them out if you haven't already...

Does it have a VC or is it 2D Cockpit only?

I might check it out. I used to travel from Manila to Roxas City (Philippines) on a BAC 1-11.

I had a very interesting landing at Roxas City one time. The pilot almost ran off the end of the runway on landing. It started out that we were too high and too close to the airport. The pilot must have put the engines at idle and we started losing altitude. FAST! After a we had been descending for a while, I was looking out the window thinking that if the pilot doesn't give the engines some power soon, we'll be swimming with the sharks! So he finally adds power, now we are too low and too far away from the airport, so it sounded like he decided to use full throttle. This stops the descent, but we then gained way too much speed. All of this, and the Pilot decided to land anyway. We stopped very close the end of the runway. When the aircraft turned to go back to the terminal, I could see that the airport perimeter is not very far from the end of the runway and at the edge of the perimeter fence is a fish farm (I thought they were rice paddies back then), so we could have ended up in that! The funniest part of the incident was the Pilot's announcement at the end of the flight. We were still hurtling down the runway trying to stop and the Captain is saying that he hopes that we have had a wonderful flight! Not only that, he was saying it so fast! AND. This was said in Tagalog (Filipino) and then repeated in English. All before the plane stopped.

To give you an idea of the what the airport is like, here are some aerial shots (I used Google Maps to get them):

When the aircraft stopped, my seat (just before the wings), was past the threshhold lines on the lower image. The Airport Terminal is at the other end of the runway, the northerly end (first image). I think this was when I was going to the Province to get married, I was with my fiance's cousin, she was already at her parents place.

I may have this on a video (I took lots of boring videos of my flights back then). I'll have to see if I can find it.

Thanks to the man who opened this article! I'm British and I have always noticed how people have omitted the British planes(the BAe146 is lucky), and I really want some more in my hangar as they are beautifully made. I know they weren't successful as the American competitors, but they are elegant. At my old school, we were above the RAF approach of Brize Norton approach, so we saw VC-10s and  L1011, converted from BA. If I saw the VC-10 created for FSX, I would buy it instantly, as they are very unique compared to the American versions.

Good plane-spotting area there? Looks like it could be depending on how the approaches are flown.

No. Manila would be great for plane spotting! After all, it is in the top 50 busiest airports in the world. But Roxas City only has two Arrival and two Departure flights a day. Same type of aircraft (I think it's a Boeing 737), same carrier (PAL - Philippine Airlines) same destination (Manila - Roxas City - Manila). Boring. Sad

When I first went their, the BAC 1-11 wasn't even full and there was only the one flight from Manila and back. By the late 90's, they started the second return flight there. There is no fuel station there either.

The island has mostly poor people, my wife's family included. So the ferry is the way to go, and that is extremely dangerous IMO. I used the ferry once, and I never will again. They overload them way too much and they capsize if the sea gets too rough. On my trip, I stayed on the deck in case it capsized, so I had a chance of surviving. If you are in a cabin, you will likely drown! They take everything on the ferry, cows, buffalo, goats, chickens (all still alive) and sacks of rice. The ferry was licensed to carry a certain amount of passengers, but would carry four times that amount. This applies to all (except aircraft) transport. Nothing like have 12 passengers on a motorbike (125cc) and sidecar designed to carry 4 people. Oh, and my wife, two children and I had ALL our luggage (4 suitcases) on it as well! It is a sight to see. One time, I spent quite a distance hanging off the back (one foot barely on the footrest and hanging on with one hand Shocked) of a jeepney, because there was no room left inside or on top of it, while returning to my wife's village. We had to go on that one because it was the last one of the day.

I am sure that the DM planes are nice, but I would want a dedicated FSX version of the VC10 or BAC 1-11 with a super detailed Captain Sim VC. The DM planes do have VCs, but they are nowhere near good enough quality for me.
