calibration for constant speed

I would like to know what sort of gear do you use and what calibration you use.
After lot's of flight I find really not easy to archive the wanted speed and I am shure it's caused by my bad behave.
I use Saitek Proflight with double 3 levers Quadrant all calibrated with FSUIPC.
I also used the mod found in the forum for engine to let me climb at list 2000 ft/m

Another info is what's is the formula to fill load station without use the CS Pallet animation wich take eternity and be shure of good balance on weight distribution.

Maybe shorten the the gap from idle to max thrust i can be more agressive but I would like to know what method do you use.

Aircraft.cfg

[GeneralEngineData]
engine_type= 1
Engine.0= -41.000, -8.960, 2.500
Engine.1= -48.000, 0.000, 2.500
Engine.2= -41.000, 8.960, 2.500
fuel_flow_scalar= 0.4344
min_throttle_limit=-0.25
max_contrail_temperature = -30

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain= 0.003
inlet_area= 18.000
rated_N2_rpm= 29920.000
static_thrust=17400
afterburner_available= 0
reverser_available= 1
ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 1
AfterBurnThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 0

[jet_engine]
thrust_scalar=1.1

FSUIPC4.ini

Throttle1=-16384,-16384,-16384,16383
ReverserControl=66292
Reverser1Control=66422
Reverser2Control=66425
Reverser3Control=66428
Reverser4Control=66431

Thank you

Was it clear my question?
Anyone have problem to menage speed with the 727.
Thank you

Hi.

I'm not really sure what you question with speed really is, but I don't really have any speed problems. I just use the throttle on my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. I am constantly increasing or decreasing it to maintain the speed. I use the 2D AP to adjust the VS during the climb. I am not using the Mods by Michael2, I have only increased the thrust, from 15500 to 17400, in the 727-200 and 727-200F.

And here are my settings for the Cargo of the 727-100F:

unit_weight.1=2000
unit_weight.2=700
untc=8
station_load.3=2000,1,0,0,Container
station_load.4=2000,8,0,0,Container
station_load.5=2000,-6,0,0,Container
station_load.6=2000,15,0,0,Container
station_load.7=2000,-13,0,0,Container
station_load.8=2000,22,0,0,Container
station_load.9=2000,-20,0,0,Container
station_load.10=2000,29,0,0,Container

and the 727-200F:

unit_weight.1=2000
unit_weight.2=700
untc=12
station_load.3=2000,1,0,0,Container
station_load.4=2000,8,0,0,Container
station_load.5=2000,-6,0,0,Container
station_load.6=2000,15,0,0,Container
station_load.7=2000,-13,0,0,Container
station_load.8=2000,22,0,0,Container
station_load.9=2000,-20,0,0,Container
station_load.10=2000,29,0,0,Container
station_load.11=2000,-27,0,0,Container
station_load.12=2000,36,0,0,Container
station_load.13=2000,-34,0,0,Container
station_load.14=2000,43,0,0,Container

I used the Loader to load them. I always do. To me, the Cargo Loaders are fun thing to play with when flying the Captain Sim Freighters for the 707/727/757/767.

There are performance charts for the real 727 that you can use to get approximate EPR settings to use for various phases of flight.  The charts I have give you EPR settings for either mach .78 or .80 for various weights and altitudes.   Is that what you mean?  You still need to manually adjust the throttle to maintain those pressure settings, and allow for winds aloft and such.

Thank's for your help and sorry to bother.
I actually have this problem also with the turbine Duke, but it dosent happen with the carenado caravan or another company MD11 and other payware.
My problem is more relate to the way my throttle works is like if there was a big deadzone and find difficult to archive with precision EPR setting and keep constant speed.
Let's say I am at 250 IAS in climb phase even if I don't touch the lever the speed change and I have always to increase or decrease with throttle, but then I have an hard time to keep  250.
Of course during climb pahese wind or other factor can change your speed but not always and for me it's all the time difficult to archive with the throttle the wanted speed,if i climb or decsent.
Of course my gear are not well setup for such aircraft otherwise I can't understand why i can fly safely with other one but I don't know what to do.

For the Cargo Loaders no time I can do the check list but not more I fly a VA in vatsim I have to fill the cargo with certain weight let's say 22145 (lbs) what I do is to fill the FSX station but I know that is insane you don't know what is your CG and if you are correctly balanced, but I was hope of an excel sheet or a load manger like TOPCAT that do the job with the Aircraft.cfg.
Thank you

Hi Sombiosi.

Here is my suggestion. Start a Free Flight with the 727F, fill all the cargo positions using the Cargo Loader and save it. From then on, the aircraft will be fully loaded. From that point on, go to Menu > Aircraft  > Fuel and Payload > Change Payload (ALT > A > F >P) and remove or change the weights of all the cargo positions. Saving those options in FSX will not save them in the aircraft.cfg, like clicking SAVE in the Cargo Loaders does.

Hoe this helps.

When I climb, I set the throttle to get the correct EPR reading for climb, then I use pitch to control speed.  250 kias below 10,000 and 280 kias above 10,000.  For descent, I set the throttle for 55% N1 and use pitch to achieve 2500 feet per minute of descent.   As I get closer to 10,000 feet, I shallow out a bit and cut the throttle enough to get down to 250 kias.

Ok now I have a better view of my problem.
My throttle imput have too much lag to command speed and it's hard to archive speed.
But If i make more sensible thethrottle i got it much worse if I use less is much more worse.
I we was able to see the real thing Sad
