I can't see anything...

Hi there,
I just bought the 707 version FSX and after downloading it and installing it on my computer, I ran into a big problem.  After running the FS, i chose one of the many 707s for a test ride. The plane appears all black in the outside and the cockpit has nothing to fly with. I tried every single one of them in case there was a problem with one, but all came out like this. I uninstalled and reinstalled the file again but to no avail.
I am running the FSX on my windows vista with 3 GB ram and 32 bit operating system. I have never had any trouble running the FSX and the other airplanes work perfectly on my computer.
Please tell me what is wrong here,, i'm out $54 and no 707 at the moment Cry

Hi,

Are you running in dx10 Mode, that can cause the black textures? Also are you starting your flight in the 2d cockpit? As the 707 only has a 3d VC you will not see anything if you start in the 2d cockpit, you will need to tab to the VC using the default A key.
Hope this helps

Arsiss, you should offer some more details about your system and your installation.

So what are your computer specs, which version of FSX are you running (SP1, SP2, Acceleration?), is your DirectX installation current, did you check your drivers for updates, which settings in FSX are set (advanced animations, highres cockpit graphics, and so on).

But, first of all, consider to go into your profile on the Captain Sim page and use the ticket system to get official support for your product.
So while you may receive some guesses from other customers here, the official support only gets triggered by a support ticket.

So be aware and don't forget about those details currently missing.  Smiley

Yes, more details are needed. The only thing you say is 32 bit. Well, 32bit system means nothing, its normal, the lowest system possible, an XP like mine. Either its 32bit (XP) or Win7 (64bit). 3gb ram is ok. But what is your video card memory? If your vid card is low the textures take long to load. Is it a notebook?

It sounds too me like the 707 hasn't installed properly (texture folders or files are missing). Try uninstalling, then reinstalling, to see if it gets installed correctly.

Thank you so much folks... I finally got it working . I did not have neither Sp1 nor Sp2 installed. After downloading and installing sp1 and sp2, the 707 is working like a charm.
Thanks a million again. Grin
