Hi Jeff.

You need to edit the CS 707-300 aircraft config file so you will no longer be flying an "Experimental".

This is how it is in the default aircraft.cfg file:
[General]
performance=
atc_type=
atc_model=
Category=airplane

This is what you need to change it to:
[General]
performance=See Flight Manual
<- I just added that because I wanted to.
atc_type=BOEING
atc_model=B707
Category=airplane

That's okay Nathan. I had to read it a few times to figure out what he was on about.

I actually figured that one out on my computer on the day I installed v1.2 and so I had not heard it for so long that I had to think hard as to why it would do that. I always spend the first few hours after installing a new addon aircraft making small changes to suit me.

Besides. To err is human. Wink

I thought you do that to add new atc_airline, ui_manufacturer, atc_type and atc_model into the voice pack.

Yes, I had the same problem and changed the aircraft.cfg file as you said, but ATC only ever identifies me as "Boeing", and not "Boeing 707" - I had the same problem with the 727 Captain too.

Hi,

as said above:

1. Get EditVoicePackX (and understand how to use it)
2. add entries in "Aircraft"->"Model" for "B727" and "B707" (this one works only if you changed the aircraft.cfg as described above, B727 works by default)
3. apply the changes!

=> DONE!

Merry Xmas,

Stefan

First of all. I'm not a PC tech champ.I am trying to do a/m instruction but where exactly is the aircraft.cfg file in CS707 ?
If I want to open a random cfg file, which program do I have to use to overwrite the file ?

Thanks kind help Wink

Hi Jan,

The aircraft.cfg is located in the following location depending on where you installed it.

If you did the default installation it will be in:

c:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator x\simobjects\aircraft\cs707_320
there you will find an aircraft.cfg file and you can open it by using notepad.

change the atc_type to BOEING and you be fine.

Woon je toevallig in de buurt van Schiphol ?
Zou ik eens bij je kunnen kijken (of jij bij mij) hoe het 707 nou precies werkt. Je kunt me bereiken op jankoppen[@]quicknet.nl

Hi Jan.

Try copying the aircraft.cfg file to your desktop, then open it, edit it and save it. Now copy the cone from the desktop into your CS_B707-300 folder and allow it to overwrite the on already in there.

Hope this helps.
