fs passenger x and CS 727

Hi,

I just started using fs passenger x combined with the CS727-200 and noticed that when i load up the aircraft to say 70% i hardly get the aircraft of the ground.

I tried to takeoff from EHRD (Rotterdam airport) and needed the full runway to take off. I know EHRD is not that big of an airport, but i do am convinced that you should be able to bring a fully loaded 727-200 in the skies from this airport.

I did some readings on the fspassenger forum and found that another CS user has this problem, but no solution there. I looked into the payload models available there, but no one has it.

Does anyone have a good payload model for the 727-200 to tune this aircraft so i can do normal take offs from airport that are able to handle this type of aircraft?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best regards,

Edwin

hi, i adjusted the setting you mentioned in the other post related to changing the thrust setting mark, and i also figured out my trim setting wasn't right.

its marked on the pitch (lol) in green that the trim should be on 5 at take off.

so, by changing that taking off went a lot easier, but.. when in flight, what should be the normal trim?

I usually trim for a 280-300 knot climb. As I get higher I will settle for a 260-280 knot climb (that's probably not the correct way to do it either, but it works). Once the climb gets to be ~200 fpm and speed starts struggling to hold 260 knots, it's time to accept you are probably higher than the optimum (maybe even maximum) altitude and so I level out. I sometimes descend 1000' to be safe. In all honesty, I don't fly the 727's much above FL320, especially the 727-200. The 727-100 I rarely fly above FL350 (unless the planes are almost empty) because they "feel" too heavy.

Just an update.

I did two flights from YPDN (Darwin NT) - YPPH (Perth WA). Here is how it went:

Aircraft setting. CS727-200 Ansett. GW 175250. 155 passengers, 10 cargo pallets @ 700lbs ea. 70% fuel (Left 100%, Center 43.8%, Right 100%).

With an engine thrust rating of 17400
171500 FL330 still climbing at 300 knots 1200 fpm
171300 FL350 still climbing at 280 knots 1000 fpm
170650 FL370 still climbing at 270 knots  700 fpm (Altitude Hold switched on)

With an engine thrust rating of 15500
170500 FL300 still climbing at 300 knots  500 fpm
169900 FL320 still climbing at 300 knots  500 fpm
169300 FL340 still climbing at 280 knots  300 fpm (Altitude Hold switched on) both the Airspeed and VS were starting to drop significantly. She was struggling to climb any higher.

I think there is enough of an improvement for me to stay with the 17400lbs thrust. Wink

Hi Edwin.

As you can see, the extra thrust gives the 727-200 enough power to fly at a higher altitude than with the ones listed in the default aircraft.cfg. I honestly don't remember the difference being that much. I had to do the same flight under the same conditions but with just the different engine thrust. I never did that before.
