Why wait? Buy it now. Fly it now.

From the 707-300 Captain page:

Bonus Features:
Version 1.1 (Release September 2010) will deliver the following free upgrades to the 707-300 pack:
• Highly detailed and accurate Boeing 707-320B Exterior Model
• 4X High resolution textures of 12 popular Liveries
• Complete Passenger Cabin including galley and lavatories
• ACE - Aircraft Configuration Editor
• Crew voice messages
• Repaint Kit
• and more...

Notice in the underlined section. It says Version 1.1...will deliver the following free upgrades to...etc!

Captain Sim always offers free upgrades (AFAIK), except for if you buy an Express Line Product and want to upgrade it to a Pro Line Product, e.g. the B-52 BUFF Exterior to the upcoming B-52 Driver which will cost me 10 Euros.

I don't think you will regret it.

Thanks for the link! Any chance Eastern could be included? They were one of the Icons of  the era.

Normally we do not model failures. But the 1.1 will support some major failures (for example engine fire).

Unfortunately Eastern have not used the -300 series.
If we build the early series expansions we'll probably make Eastern.

Fantastic video!

Though it looked like both right engines were shut down and not just engine #3, before the bell for engine #4 went off (going by the gauges).

Great vid lol.

Which makes me want to ask : CS, have you considered adding a failure system simulating a briefcase full of explosives going off in the aft lavatories, tearing a big breach through the fuselage and damaging the tail structure ? Oh, and a Trans Global Airways livery too Cheesy

Dear Capt. Sim -

Hilarious video, and thanks for doing the upcoming 2D popup for the AP! Smiley  (How about my clickable yoke suggestion to show/hide it, as in the Legendary 707?  Another vendor has done it in their FSX VC....  Wink)

Really looking forward to the update of this excellent aircraft!  Smiley

Great! Looking forward to it. Thanks for the info.

Captain Sim, I love Your work! These historic airliners represent the golden era of aviation, where pilots needed to be pilots and every flight was an adventure. Go on with Your work-we will always love it!

Anyone notice the nose gear follow-up door and ventral fin (found on the earlier 707-320B models...) The 320B ADV and 320C had the more common split type nose gear follow-up doors, and no ventral fin.

They should add as a free bonus the INS Civa integrated on the VC (so no doppler navigation at all)...

The Legendary 707 for FS9 came first. Wink

The 707-300 in my FSX is listed as a 707-320ADV! So I guess the answer must be YES.

Plenty of time to hold that September promise  Tongue
I don't know which side likes release dates more: waiting customers or the companies.

However, even if it takes longer, I hope Finn's list is shrunken after the release.

I would be surprised if they release the update.I expect it would be sometime in October, delays do happen and even when you are close to a patch release things pop up.

Then a small patch with some of the more essential updates would be more then welcome. Give us at least a working doppler while we wait. You can't fly everywhere VOR to VOR, especially when flying long haul flights...

Why not just create a flight with the default MSFS Flight Planner and fly a route that way while we wait? Wink

Ok, I have to admit that I would eat my hat if the update would be released today.
As for the small patch: I don't think everybody goes for the same errors here. I wouldn't even want to go via FS flight planner but INS only and with a working pressurization system and exact DME2 readings.

So you'll find everyone asking other things from that maybe small patch.

Pure professional would be to not wait until the last minute of September to announce that the date can't be fulfilled, but I think, this point already passed.
No big deal in my eyes, some apologies and of course a new date with some facts about the solved problems in the upcoming patch will do just fine.

I have no doubt that this product has some great potential and the "new" forum tone from Captain Sim underlines this opinion.

Because I'm a vintage aviation nostalgic and a bit of a masochist too. If I wanted to do that I'd fly Airbus or 757/767. I want to manually set up Doppler legs and VOR frequencies, I want to simulate flying the 707 the way it was flown with the nav equipment it had back then. I want to be able to miss the mark by hundreds of miles because I miscalculated something and ditch in the middle of the Pacific instead of Hawaii.

Cheers

Markoz, one more to go and you're in the 4 digits club Smiley
So far, and as a far more unregular member here, enjoyed your posts.

Lets hope, we can celebrate your 1000th and the update on the same day. Every time I load the 707 I think "beautiful thing, but could use some tuning".

Glad to read another one asking for the INS to be installed in the VC. So far I'm cheating with the double unit installation and another DME2 readout, to get the INS correctly aligned in flight.

Of course, the additional liveries would be welcome too.
Another nice point when viewed closely are the numerous users reporting all kinds of bugs to make the to do list for Captain Sim complete and allow them to work on the solutions.

OK, Still 120 seconds to go until we enter October here. I just clicked the download button and it is going to take a few more minutes before it's complete, so even though it won't be installed before October, you did meet the September deadline as far as I'm concerned. My apologies for ever doubting you would.

THANK YOU CS !

Way to go on 1.1, CS!  You swung for the fence and put the ball into the parking lot.  I thought the interior of the 767  was excellent, but the 707...I'm speechless.  And the INS and DNS together, wow!

Congratulations.

I'm speechless...  Shocked The interior-model is top-of-the-notch (love the lounge in the front section!), tons of annoying bugs have been fixed, and to have doppler and INS at the same time is just awsome!  Cheesy  And the new liveries are great, love the Qantas 707!  Smiley

And you've released it in time. Thats one big THANK YOU from me, you really did a great job on the 707! Thats the way to go!  Wink

Gonna eat my hat now. Shocked Any suggestions concerning the sauce?

Great change and fix list, Captain Sim. Looks amazing and I really appreciate your work. Let's enjoy the old lady now.

Really nice work on that INS unit in the VC. Sad it's not functional right now.
Looking forward to a future patch here and I'll maybe post some double INS integration for 1.1 done with small panel.cfg changes.

(I've just deleted the 1.0 description, because some values changed and now we have a nice AP popup to use as Civa start point)
